A year following the discovery of the gold deposits in the central Ironblood mountain range, we completed a deep water port ($3,000) for the export of the precious booty. The profits from the mine are currently $800 per year.
Our economy has been growing stronger. Hereīs a glimpse into Uristia City.
Our current import/export regimen, for the curious:
Around the same time, a team of our geologists discovered coal in the hills not far to the Northeast. This coal could be extracted but it would behoove us to wait until our engineers can build upon swampland. Once we can do that, a single depot located in the swampland would tap both the iron and coal mines.
But fortune has smiled upon us! Another coal deposit has been located in the hills east of Yabonmomi, in the fertile center of our country. A corps of engineers has been dispatched to lay track southwards through the forest from Uristia City and build a depot at the site.
We purchased this dazzling new technology called a "Cotton Jig" from some foreign eggheads, and I think weīre the first to own it. Weīll need all the textile output we can get, soon enough.
By late 1819 we had earned quite a bit of cash reserves from our exports. I diverted this cash into an embassy in Penia. If they get to know us well enough, they might just jump in bed with the Uristian cause and join our empire.
Current foreign relations:
With our gold supply tapped and our infrastructure rapidly developing, I redirected our efforts towards developing our military. Heeding Bunnybob and LordSlowpoke, I have raised another unit of heavy artillery, and a unit of cuiriassers (we had to import the horses).
Having accomplished the basics of our first five year plan, we turn our ambitions outward... War!
Troops are marching towards the border as we speak, under NRDLīs command.
