Human Caravan.

Well...

A human caravan came onto my map and got ambushed by a bunch of goblins, one trader and his wagon died.

Human guards killed the goblin bowgob ambush but now now the entire human caravan is in a tantrum spiral and wont do anything.

So should I kill them? Or should I let them stay and act as bait?

The trader was probably the one that was to do the trading.  There was an ambush right during the unloading part of a caravan for mine, and after that ?trader died? they never did open for trade, and shortly after packed up and left.

If any of the traders, pack animals or wagons in a caravan are killed they all just pack up and go home. The guards don't matter though.

I thought that only happens when you kill the diplomat? At least, it speeds up the process.

I have never had a human or elf siege at any point regardless of the number of times their caravans died.

Merchants will not undergo a tantrum spiral. Are you referring to insanity? Merchants will go insane if they stay on the map for too long.

Merchant guards are immune to this insanity. I try to capture some every time they show up, the bowmen make good sentries.
