« on: May 17, 2012, 04:55:05 pm »

So I see that this sub-forum is not as active as it was but nevertheless I was looking (lurking) though curses finding
Game challenge "Wanted Dead" seeing this I read on,It's basically about you being recognized by all no sneaking no running It's killed or be killed

So He said everyone is taught to hate the Liberals though Conservative teaching

stay with me so if you start on nightmare mode you will find liberalism Is not around but if you save people free
people you gain them, Such as sweatshop workers or child workers. This is what I'm about to bring up so Conservatives
Being trained at birth, how do we fight back?

The Liberal Day-care The way this works is without having to go and rescue people you can train them,

This is not for everyone however I like having kids in my Crime Squad but not everyone does so this is how you can be guaranteed you will
Have a steady stream of recruits but you cant just have any random yarwoo watching someones kids they will need teaching and a clean record but as labor laws or whatever laws puts kids in factories as they go Liberal you will Improve your daycare to a school bringing in more recruits

If you have any ideas or way to improve this one let me know tell me anyway to improve on the idea.

I'm suprised the criminalization of prostitution is not part of the conservative agenda. Seems like just the kind of arbitary limitation of personal freedom the liberals ought to fight against.

Right now I am personally trying to find ideas of how to get the Parabolic difficulty curve to work on the Liberal Side more organically as well as make it so the hardest mode at least gives you a run for your money.

For those who don't understand... The Parabolic Difficulty curve means that the easiest the game gets is the Neutrals. While the toughest part of the game is at the Arch-Conservative and Arch-Liberal alignments.

Arch-Conservative being hard because everything is such a hell-hole
Arch-Liberal being hard because everything is perfect and thus they can more aptly deal with you.

I am thinking that once police is Arch-Liberal... Raids will feature Police Negotiators who basically are a area wide social attack that make your team lose heart (not the stat).

Changed that for you.   :P

Actually, you'll find religious conservatives and feminist liberals tend to condemn prostitution, and economic conservatives and different feminist liberals tend to argue for it's legalization.

It's a bit hard to nail down, although you're probably right about most Conservatives trying to officially crack down on prostitution, pornography, and "lewd" dancing (more than strip clubs, I'm afraid.  See the movie Footloose).

Prostitution is a crime... so yeah. In LCS, Prostitution is Liberal.

In real life, it's much more complicated, and different people from both sides will fall on different sides of the line. Conservative types tend to be totally against legalizing it, but liberals are divided--either they believe you ought to be free to sell "intimate services" if you want to; or they believe it's a way to oppress and objectify the people involved in it, and shouldn't be allowed. And then there's the group who wants to regulate it, allow it up to a certain point only. It seems simple until you research it... then you realize it's not.

Don't quite agree with that.  Some Conservatives want everything to be legal, and view making prostitition (and anything else) illegal is "an unjust restriction on the free market".  But yeah, it's complicated.

I think how prostitution in general is handled needs an overhaul. I don't quite get the logic on how it lowers juice when in comparison, seducing conservatives, a far more degrading pastime doesn't.

Being free with your body to support the liberal cause presumably by your own volition = bad, willingly objectifying yourself to trick the conservative menace by being subservient to them = good?

I don't get it.

Janet, I think the idea behind tacking a Juice penalty onto prostitution was because of how powerful prostitution used to be and because the idea of performing sexual favors in exchanged for money seems to be a Conservative way of thinking. Now, while Juice itself represents a person's dedication to their Liberal (or Conservative) beliefs, it could also represent how much other people think of that person's dedication. In that case... well, prostitution is just not that inspiring of an act, I don't think.

In all honesty, though, I do agree with you. Prostitution should be a Juice-neutral act.

Also, regarding the OP... the Liberal Daycare? Oh, man, that sounds like just the site the Conservative Crime Squad would want to fuck up. Forget the Whirled Peas Museum; let's destroy a bunch of Liberal teachers for corrupting the youth!

As it stands, prostitution is not a useful mechanic because of how it lowers Juice and risks imprisonment. Low-Juice liberals imprisoned for prostitution tend to break down under interrogation, and then their leaders get racketeering charges. There's never a situation where you'd prefer prostitution over drug sales--even when drug laws are L+--because of the risk.

One possible solution would be to have only Liberals with low Seduction skill (<10) lose juice from prostitution. At high Seduction they're experienced sex workers, or at the very least swingers or pick-up artists--think of how many people you have to try to seduce to get to 10 Seduction. Off the top of my head I'd estimate something like three hundred people.

Another possibility would be to have prostitution lower Juice only if it's already less than a hundred--that is, if the Liberal in question isn't particularly dedicated to the cause yet.

Or you could have it be possible to bribe the vice squad when a prostitute gets caught: Lose $100 in exchange for preventing arrest. As their Street Sense increases, they become less and less likely to be caught, and you spend less money on bribes; then it starts to be profitable. With the police properly bought off and employing Liberals skilled at seduction, you're running a high-class brothel out of your safehouse.

I wouldn't want prostitution to be an extremely useful money-raising method; this isn't Liberal Pimp Squad after all. But it wouldn't be overpowered if you could earn about as much money, and take as much risk, as selling brownies under moderate drug laws. If it's never useful, why have it in the game at all?

Oh, I know a couple of instances when it is worthwhile to have liberals prostituting.

Primairily, it is a "hands-off" way of training seduction, in which you actually get money.

Note that the chance of losing juice isn't that high.  It happens, but not enough to really be significant.

Also, the simple fact that my liberals will be arrested instead of killed is the very reason I may prefer some of my liberals to engage in prostitution instead of brownie selling when laws are Arch-Conservative.  If you're prepared for it, breaking the liberals out of the Police Station cells isn't that hard.  It all depends on whether or not you already know where the cells are, and if you have a liberal with enough security skill to reliably succeed.  It helps if the cells spawn right next to the exit, instead of on the other side of the map...

I also like having my liberals arrested sometimes, as it increases the chances for my lawyer to gain Juice by defending my liberals.

As for low-juice liberals breaking down...why are your first-line liberals being placed in such a position?  It's easy enough to insulate your founder.  And everyone else will be committing enough Murders and such for the Racketeering charge to be the least of their troubles.

Over the days I realized public nudity would be another liberal right to fight for. Quite extreme, but very polarizing on the liberal/conservative axis.

Free/mandatory religion would be one potential issue too, since that's what people fight about in real life too.

In some parts of the US, women protested that it was fundamentally unfair that men could go topless in public but women could not.  So now, women have the right to go topless in public.  Once a year, a bunch of women parade downtown topless in celebration of this freedom.

I am not making this up.

And yes, by topless I mean "no bra, no nothing".

I had an idea that is probably stupid, but anyway:

How about adding an issue to the list: Transsexual rights:

C+: Every person is coercively assigned a gender at birth and cannot change it ever. Crossdressing is a felony.

C: Sexual reassignment surgery is not legally allowed.
M: Sexual reassignment surgery is allowed, but requires complicated administrative procedures.
L: Sexual reassignment surgery is commonplace.
L+: Anyone can live as the sex he/she choses, whether or not he/she had surgery.

I know it could be phrased better, but it's just an idea.

Since the game already has doctors and psychologists, I wondered if asylums and medications could be one topic as well. Elite conservative would mean mandatory psyche drugs, elite liberal = all drugs prescription free.

With conservative laws captured liberals could be sentenced to an asylum regardless of their crimes and potentially brainwashed.

With conservative laws, there would be no drugs, just electroshock and asylums.
