Open the door, stab the pedestal again, and try to use your MIND to reflect all the light into the room, so that we may scare off any monsters in the dark.

Second time's the charm; your mind is primed and ready and the door is open!

Nope, that's not gonna work.

Just head in then. There's no way the monsters in the dark will attack us, because of our COOL SHADES(which they probably can't see because it's dark).

Sunglasses. IN A DARK ROOM. Excellent. Open the door fully so that the ambient light spills in and reveals what lies within.

Burst into dark room haphazardly while vocalizing nonsense, like "nyeeeoooaaawwww". Hopefully the racket will startle any foes.

Rename your sword 'Gruerist'. It should now glow in the presence of grues, driving them off.

Nothing else you can really do. You swag on in, confident in the protective properties of your cool shades. Your magic blade has a faint glow to it in the dark.

'Damn, it is dark in here.' You think before the door slams closed behind you. You don't see anything...

But you can't shake the feeling that something is watching you.

Spin around extremely fast in a circle, holding your knife out as far as you can, à la Link.

Take out our lighter and show that grue who's boss.

Remember the creed of the Bugblatter Beast of Traal. If you can't see it, it can't see you. Therefore, the grue can't get us. (And if we *can* see it, because of those eyes in the dark, put our shades on the grue, making it impossible to see again.)

Shout and curse as loud as you can to deter any hostile grues.

Then swing wildly, in all directions. Don't hit your own limbs, now.
