um, guys...i think i hit him a bit TOO hard...
« on: May 11, 2012, 09:36:51 pm »

well at one time wile looking through the bay12 forums (in the "whats you're signature weapon?" thread) someone was saying that a coffin was a good weapon since you could put the corpse's and stuff like that  in it to make it even heavier, and then i had an idea...i would become a stone/metal coffin wealding necromancer! but after searching high and low in a new made world i went to get the next best thing, a cage...well after putting some extra armor and weapons in it i trained in the catacombes and at one point went for a headshot, it smashed the skull and tore the brain and..."the -tin cage- is lodged in the wound"...soooo um how big are cages again?

Much like the tiles they occupy, a cage is exactly big enough to house whatever is inside.

Actually, you should be able to reverse-engineer its size by looking at the tin cage's weight, and looking at tin's density in the raws (7820).

A cage is not a block. There is no way to determine how thick the edge is.

You can make some safe assumptions.  A tin cage can't be infinitely thin, and it would make no sense to make the bars thicker than the space inside.

Anyway, I don't think the game actually has any notion of "hollowness" to begin with, so it actually would be modelled as if it were a block, so far as the game were concerned.

It's like a hammer getting stuck, or a lion corpse getting stuck. It's all good fun.

Edit. Oh Jesus Christ, Necro would be proud. The second horse in the caravan came in and immediately caught on fire. I looked into his inventory and found a burning pig tail fiber bag. Curious, I looked inside.
