Since they lay eggs, a "married" couple will only "lay" fertile eggs, so try placing a next box inside the room of a married couple, and hope that the married female takes it.

EDIT:
Also make sure to forbid the eggs as soon as laid, or forbid eggs from all stockpiles.

I played in this mod a little. Quite fun and good, but migrants that have children coming without them and I don't saw any hatchling hatched from egg in fortress. I have nestbox (maybe rename this in something more suitable? Just nest, for example, without "box") in every room. Is it possible to get a children in fortress mode here? Because I saw childs in legends mode and relationships of migrants, but I can't get them in my fortress.

Really, I don't know how to fix that, but maybe what Hugo says will work.

I had 5 married couples, but also I had "standart" dwarf planning with single 3x3 rooms. Maybe it is a reason, I'll try Hugo's method and report later about results.

Also make sure to forbid the eggs as soon as laid, or forbid eggs from all stockpiles.

Obviously :3 Also, it is sully that dragons is eating their childs. Is it possible to forbid eggs by default in raw-files?

That can't be done in the raws.  There is an in-game menu for not alowing the devouring of certain types of food by default.

Edit 2: Lol, nothing. She is left nest box and egg will not hatch. Maybe it really have to be a married pair? Trying to claim nest box to married.

Edit 3: Yes, I done it. I will free her from all jobs and watch what will be. And she is married, yep.

Okay, I've come back to working on this for a short time to get the Elemental dragons out, but a problem has erupted.  There is a bug that is causing the game to crash, and doesn't leave an errorlog.  Worldgen gets between years 2 and 4, when this happens, and I have thus far been unable to trace it.  Can someone help me out with getting rid of this?  I've uploaded the files to the 'old and buggy' link.

is the crash related to having more then one [SELECT_MATERIAL:ALL] for the hot and cold element based castes? Meph had that issue with this wizard castes, since materials and tissues are CREATURE level changing them in a caste litterly changes it for the whole creature and if you have more then one SELECT_MATERIAL:ALL DF doesn't know what to change so it does both at once, which well, makes it poop itself.

So a fix would be:

add in fire proof and cold proof materials SKIN_FP, SKIN_CP (fireproof, coldproof) and tissues to use those matierals then just add layers in the castes

[CASTE:FIRE_DRAGON]
   [BODY_DETAIL_PLAN:VERTBRAE_TISSUE_LAYERS:SCALE_FP:FAT_FP:etc...]

oh no. I just realized, if you put in elemental dragons, does that mean you are removing the otehr breeds and replacing them with cookie-cutter, euro-centric designed ones whose only difference is color and breath attack?

Hmm.  Could add wyverns and chinese-based dragons in as two other races...

Oh, it turns out the crash was because of something else in the files.  Other than the color mods, the 'bugged' is clean.  Not bringing up a 'clean' without getting rid of those, though.

I am a bit late, but did you try giving the eggs non edible materials? Because in my first attempts, I forgot to give eggs their material and they did not appear in the kitchen screen.

I am contemplating on whether to basically restart this mod from scratch and building it up from the lowest levels.  By this, I mean that I would scrap out nearly everything, including the vanilla stuff, and programming from that point (probably using some of the DF from scratch stuff, since the initial turn only has a few things not essential that could be removed).  I'm not entirely certain about this though.  Anyone else have an opinion?  And if I do, should I start up a new thread?

Just to note: I will be keeping the older versions up for use by those who want to use them.
