They are in vanilla DF already :P

Spoiler: raws from vanilla (click to show/hide)

could make the vanilla ones be like "flawed sunstone/moonstone" then make a "perfect sunstone/moonstone" that acts like star rubies/saphires

[INORGANIC:SAPPHIRE_STAR]
[USE_MATERIAL_TEMPLATE:STONE_TEMPLATE]
[TILE:15][IS_GEM:star sapphire:STP:OVERWRITE_SOLID][DISPLAY_COLOR:1:7:1][MATERIAL_VALUE:60]
[ENVIRONMENT_SPEC:SAPPHIRE:CLUSTER_ONE:1]

and "perfect sunstones/moonstones" could be used in the making of firebrand? say the breath of a dragon, tears of solar and lunar to make metal of firery earth? Im not too good with Lore things, unless it's the Story im writing.

And thinking about it, I don't think dragons would need weapons? Well maybe,

Interesting ides.  I like it!  Also, the weapons are claw enhancements.

Exiles could carry them, maybe? In there haste to escape after being exiled, they could had swiped said gems on there way out?

As it turns out, you cannot be the dragon civilization and have the exiles hostile to you.  They don't even show up when I looked at the dragon civ. in my current world.  They were there on the dwarven, though.

Can there be a hostile half human half dragon race? Dragons hate them because they are an insult to the dragon race (exiles and their crazy ideas) and the other races dislike them because of:
1. Too ailen (all?)
2. Envy the 'slight' dragon gifts; firejet, fireball, minor fire resistance, strength. (humans)
3. Fear (kobolds)
4. racism (elves?)
5. abomoniations (Slayers)

would they be called dracons? or half breeds? Also I kinda picture half human/dragons as this:

So Dragons need metal claws to tear down trees? And to mine? Hmm.

Okay. My woodcutter got his claws and got to work but my miner is being lazy.

*Insert evil laugh here* My Dragons are getting bad thoughts about having no clothes.

All my Dragons are female. And it seems I have two pairs of lesbian Dragons.

Smaug had a coat of gems on his body, maybe something like that?

Wow I don't look for a day and the thread explodes.

So what is a dracon?  No one explained.  :-\

It varies a lot as there are many interpretations, but look at my avatar.  That would be one example of a dracon.   In my experience it is a roughly human sized humanoid with dragon features.  Distinct from dragons by their size and humanoid shape.  And usually a species instead of being the result of a 'dragon X something else' pairing.  There have been more than a couple mods that include them, and at least two where they are the primary focus.

Half Breeds, epic.
Could use castes to give them a variable amount of dragon blood (some have wings, some don't, some pass for human, some look fully dragon)or make the mixed races.  (Half-human, half-elf, half-dwarf, half-kobold, half goblin...)  Or hell, a creature can have some absurdly high memory friendly number of castes, why not both?  Though they would be able to create any of the castes breeding, no way to control that, so it might be odd to see two half-dragonelves make a half-dragonbold.

@clothes
Might be able to make some custom clothing items that are basically just like decorative items and have the game treat them as clothes with a very low coverage value.   Like a decorative collar or chain that has a very low coverage, to not provide any real protection except for the off chance an attacker hits the chain itself.  And give it the clothing tags neccesary for the game to read it as torso clothing.  Add similar things for the other bodyparts that require clothing like lower body and claws and maybe a custom reaction to make them.  Might even give a real reason to use gold silver and gems, by making them require small amounts of those materiels to be made, dragons love their bling.

Traders and migrants would probably come with cloth ones, but replacements need to be made of precious metals.

That particular mindfuck comes with the territory when the subject matter is on half dragons.  Half kobolds are one of the less strange ones I have heard of.  At least they have a spinal column.

WoW Kobolds are pretty close to how I imagine DF Kobolds. Except without the candle. And a little less ugly.

GET BACK ON TOPIC!  THIS IS NOT A KOBOLD THEAD!
and watch your language, kids might be reading this.

That is possible, and I am coding that for the next update. (to clothes suggestion)

Can there be a hostile half human half dragon race? Dragons hate them because they are an insult to the dragon race (exiles and their crazy ideas) and the other races dislike them because of:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I would think of it as the "dragon humans" or some such would be allies, due to them trying to become dragons through usage of magic, like the Ko-po-tun or whatever the name is.  (they are creatures similar to kajiit, but are trying to become dragons, one has even succeeded!)

Well that was...interesting. I still wonder why my miner refuses to grab her pick claws. Maybe I should try forbidding then unforbidding. Or I could try to house Dragons in a wooden keep.

If miners and woodcutters neglect to use weapons/picks or axes it can be:
1. weapon is too big for creature
2. Equips tag is missing.

@ Clothes
Body: Amulets, Chains, collars
Lower body: tail ring, chains, belt? chain belt?
Feet: ankle rings

Thats all got

@ Dragon Humans
Caste of Human or seperate race?
I guess since slayers hate all dragons, dragon humans can (of course) be allies with dragons. But since of their dragon blood, are no longer considered human to slayers.
