water flow question
« on: April 30, 2012, 07:05:44 am »

I've got a [pic related] problem

will it be safe to dig out the marked square?

Its for a pump stack, so changing the layout will be a bit of a bother.

but can water seep through a diagonal access point? If water does flood through the whole pump stack will be ruined.

the blue bit is water, grey is rock, open space with a flat bit in the bottom is mined out rock with floor.

I think ThatAussieGuy assumed the picture was top-down. Water can flow diagonally on the same level, but it does not travel across levels on a diagonal.

If that image is a side view rather than a top view, the water will not leak through.
