Marcellus didn't hear the man at first. All he got was the roaring in his ears.

Perhaps, it was the din of a battlefield-an endless thunder of guns, fire and blood. Every now and then-a pause, a shift in momentum, a surge in attack, redirected defense. In that moment, a soldier learned to steady his breathing-lest, he join his brothers and sisters staring sightless from the Earth.

...Or maybe, it was the roar of a crowd, baying for blood-and that horrible breathless anticipation, the utter silence between the swing and the killing blow. Then the rapture of death, the rejoicing, the cheering. But, they didn't see the eyes though. A dying persons eyes were a horrible thing to see, but you owed it to him-or her. He had sent them all on, and had promised not to waste their sacrifice. It was all that kept him going.

Even so-this time, he thought it was the warp itself...calling to him...beckoning him to his destiny. Maybe she was waiting....somewhere out there...endless, boundless chaos-but to him, a woman with a gentle smile. Mother ready to embrace and forgive him. A lovers caress. Oh yes, he thought quite manically-this was his defense, after all, refuge in hilarity-yes. He knew them all.

A man could lose himself out there-could, and did. Lose what made him a man. Of course, when that happened, you didn't quite care anymore, did you? No. He had seen it happen, once before.

Men had walked toward damnation with wide smiles, and open arms-hoping for a glorious salvation, to be lifted from the haze into paradise, he suppose. He had almost joined them. There were nights in the slave pens he thought he should have.

He shook his head violently, trying to clear it of those distracting-heretical?-thoughts. By the Emperor, what was wrong with him? He stood up, feeling the familiar weight of his armor, his weapons. A moment later, he felt like himself again.

Mostly.

"Just get us moving. Heresy grows from idleness." He growled.

Action: Prepare to move out

Rangor looked over the troops. After making sure they were not maxhines he shrugged and said, "Don't die."

((Rangor doesn't really give a shit about anything thats not a machine. Teammate shot, whatever. Arm blown off, ish cool. Machine spirt defiled, BITCH IMMA KELL YOU!))

Galad hefted his Storm Bolter and looked at the man before him.

"Charge headfirst into their ranks and drop us deep within." He let out a hearty laugh. "And I thought we would be facing a worthy foe. Let us purge these traitors, brothers."

He was a Grey Hunter, yes, but he had no squad to speak of other than the Faithful Marines of his Brother Chapters beside him. Yes, he had gained more reason since his days as a Blood Claw, and more wit to ideas of tactical force.

Also, there was a Grey Knight on board, coinciding with the other Astartes: one from the Angels Encarmine, known for their energy, activity and battle fervour to the God Emperor; there was also another in an unknown outfit holding a Heavy Bolter. An Exile, he guessed. It was good to see one still in service for redemption and atonement.

The fact that there was also a Techpriest and a Psyker with them would instill bravery in the Guardsmen. With this, he knew they wouldn't fail against these traitors.

Order the above in Grey, Prepare to move out.

((mcclay, can you bold actions, please?))

The man nods his head, and turns around slowly leading you towards a maintenance elevatus on the far side of the great hall, "I've been told that my squads are to be broken up, and four men are to be given to each of you during the coming fight. I have also been informed that it will only be the thirty-two of use on this boarding mission, we have a Caestus Assault Ram, and an escort of seven Fury Interceptors to get us to the enemy's flagship. From there on we're on our own, I've also got disturbing reports of strong energy readings, and psychic power levels coming from that ship. Something is on there, and I've been tasked with taking it out while you take the ship over, and use it against the enemy Iconoclasts."

Galad grins, shifting his weight as he pulls out his Frost Sword and switches his Storm Bolter back upon hearing the man's words. It looks like this would turn out for the better, in the Warp.

He looked around, checking for any insignia of command on any of the nearby men. None were apparent. He faced the man, to affirm a notion,"What are the men armed with? Which mode of transport are we all using?"

"We have some lasguns, and krak grenades waiting down stairs to arm our squads, and we have around three melta guns to spare, but only three tanks of fuel. Overall the main bits of weaponry we'll have to use are kraks, and the basic lasguns though you might be able to convince the Quartermaster to hand over some shotguns, or heavier weaponry if you think we'll need it."

As Galad looks at the soldiers he does notice that each of them bear the symbol of stormtroopers.

((Stormtroopers. Elite Imperial Guard Soldiers.

With lasguns.  :P Not the Hellgun?))

The Astartes nods, then points out a tall man in the third squad, another in the second with his visor down, a third in the first squad with a grenade belt and the last right next to the third. "You four with lasguns and frag or krak grenades, follow me." Galad then waits for the others (while reverting power from his Rosarius to his melee weapons) to decide who they will take under their wing and what they will arm them with.

While waiting, he inclines his head towards the infantryman who spoke, "I take it, we'll all be in the Ram?"

"Yes sir, we will all be on the Ram ..." He trails off as a voice comes through his vox, and he pauses to pick it up and listen to whats going on before turning back to speak, "Its another report, we've got a dozen or so Assault Craft incoming, and our escorts been bumped from seven Furys to four to try, and fend those off."

((Yeah no hellguns, fresh out since the boarding defense squads got em :P))

((My armor is descripted as causing me to receive more damage.))

Atero looked around. This would be his first assignment as a full-fledged brother, and he would not waver, he would not forgive and above all, they would obtain victory in the name of the Holy Emperor and the Inquisition.

There were no further questions to be asked, and even if they lacked the proper equipment, they had the duty to prevail and crush the traitors and daemons on their path.

"It would be advised for the Quartermaster to grant the Imperial Stormtroopers at least one piece of heavy weaponry, so they may take full advantage of their superior training."

He patiently waits for the time of  the assault.

((Pure psychic power: Hammerhand. Based on prayer: The Canticle of Absolution. Source is here. I would pick Shrouding instead of Canticle, but I guess it needs the Aegis Armor and more GKs to work properly.))
