Crank hears the doomy shell of doom approaching, and takes immediate action! He fires his Green Shell back along the curve- the other racers will have to dodge at the beginning of the next Action Phase! Crank immediately cuts inside, going into a Powerslide [3]
+1 and popping forward with a
+1 bonus on Pass Checks!
Drop all three bananas behind me, Aggressive Driving though the loop!
With Crank out of range, Zelda elects to make life difficult for the rest of the pack! She presses forward aggressively, [5] blazing ahead with
TWO Momentum and a
-1 Penalty to Hazard Checks as she scatters all three bananas on the loop, bedeviling the other drivers!
Well this was looking bad. At least the hushed tone and bated breath of the audience meant that another Doom Shell was about to hit the field. hopefully Captain falcon will have picked up some speed by then.
Aggressive driving!
[4] Captain Falcon is not daunted by the Banana gauntlet before him, accelerating and picking up
ONE Momentum, although he takes a
-1 Penalty to Hazard Checks!
"Ugh, I must be more roughed up then I realized if my driving is this poor." DB sighed before his eyes lit up in fear as the flashing warning light came on, alerting him to the yellow menace now on the track. Thoughts of the simulator showing him how his kart would handle came crashing back into his mind. Even though the sim showed his tank would look more at home in a destruction derby then on the track, it did reveal the 1 glaring flaw. His wide tracks made it difficult to evade those slippery monsters and a design flaw allowed easy access for those things to get stuck in important places. Damn scientists wouldn't even put some plywood up to cover it trying to convince him to remember the resale value. DEFENSIVE DRIVING.
Dry Bones knows the Dry Bomber is particularly susceptible to Bananas as a result of its increased ramming capabilities, and reacts swiftly as Princess Zelda drops her peely payload,
Driving Defensively to mitigate the threat!
The Mysterious Mr. L did not handle repeated failure well. Okay, just got to get a grip, I have a grip, I'm not going insane... hahaha... no... never... ♫Here is a present from me to you/it is a shell that is blue♫ AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Use the Blue Shell and DRIVE LIKE AN AGGRESSIVE MADMAN!
The Mysterious Mr. L hurls his
Blue Shell into the air, sending it streaking after Crank- it will hit at the end of the next Action Phase! He floors the accelerator, [5] flying toward the loop with
TWO Momentum!
Drive aggressively, and use that mushroom!
There's no time to waste! [6] The Poltergust 4000 screams forward with
THREE Momentum as Luigi breaks out of his doldrums, taking a
-1 Penalty to Hazard Checks! As he closes in on the pack he activates his
Mushroom, gaining an additional
TWO Momentum and flying towards the Mysterious Mr. L! [1]

YELLOW, heading for the Item Boxes!
Zelda drops her bananas as she easily traverses the loop de loop in
ORANGE- she doesn't quite have enough Momentum to Pull Ahead!
Captain Falcon [4]
-1-1 has no time to avoid hitting one of the strewn bananas, Spinning Out and losing
ONE Momentum! [4]
+1-1 Somehow, Falcon keeps his wheels spinning and makes it through the loop without falling back!
Dry Bones [5]
-1+1 is rewarded for his caution, carefully avoiding the banana-rich portion of the track as he successfully passes through the loop!
The Mysterious Mr. L [3]
+1 has enough time to see the bananas coming, and guides his Kart around the hazard! He races through the loop, coming up fast on Dry Bones as he exits, [6]

+1+1 and easily passing the Skeletal Koopa! He loses
ONE Momentum as he takes Fourth Place, and sets his sights on Captain Falcon! [4]

+0 He has little trouble getting by the F-Zero pilot, claiming
Third Place and losing
One Momentum!
Luigi [6]
+1-1 zips between the bananas on the track, flying through the
ORANGE loop and preparing to make a charge! [1]

+1+1 Dry Bones is still reeling from MML's pass, and is completely unprepared for the green streak that overtakes him now! Luigi loses
ONE Momentum as he aims to unseat Captain Falcon, [2]

+0 who is completely unable to oppose him! Luigi slides into Fourth Place as he comes up behind the Mysterious Mr. L, [4]

+1 and this time no amount of clever maneuvering by the caped fellow with impeccable fashion sense can stop Luigi! Luigi claims

ONE Momentum as he begins catching up to Zelda!

Triple Banana should make things interesting for the other drivers when they get this far!

2: I'm not too picky on where the characters come from, really. Our current leader Crank is from Bay12's very own
Mushroom Kingdom Wars, King Harkinian is more famous for his
Youtube fame than anything canon, and we've got some Final Fantasy characters in the stands to boot. I'm deliberately leaving character origins/motivations vague, so flavor to taste.
