Yoshi Falls- Turn Three

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th

Action Phase

Action: Weave toward the item boxes! Defensive driving!

Oomph pulls his thoughts away from... hammers, and returns his focus to the race! He begins Driving Defensively, gaining a +1 bonus against being passed and a +1 bonus against attacks! He weaves towards the item boxes!

Go outside lane, drive defensively

Captain Falcon follows Oomphs lead, attempting to hold position while he picks up an item box!

Power slide on the inner track!

"Didn't work last time, but I'm sure I can get it if I just try again!"

[3] Unfortunately, this section of track is more difficult to powerslide in, and with less space to work with Counselor Grimtoad is again forced to abort his maneuver! He drives toward the Dash Panel on the inside!

Bill weaves to the outer curve, going for the item boxes. "You're going down shroomy!" He cried as he tried to speed ahead.

"You're going down, shroomy!"

Bill Ryzer drives aggressively toward the outside path and its Item Boxes, [6] gaining THREE Momentum and a -1 penalty to Hazard Checks! He speeds after the Counselor!

Draft Bill and attempt to grab the Item box.

You think you can disrespect me, eh!?  Mr. L proclaimed as he Bill repeatedly blocked him, his mustache curling at the ends, I'll show you soon enough!

The Mysterious Mr. L attempts to draft behind Bill, [6]+1vs[1]+5 and somehow he squeaks ahead even as Bill hits the gas! Mr L takes Fourth Place and loses ONE Momentum!

Agresive driving, go for the Item crates.

Mario eschews the Momentum-granting inner path and swings outside in the hopes of a loose Item Box, driving aggressively to make up lost ground! [5] He puts the pedal to the metal, gaining TWO Momentum and taking a -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks!

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th
Movement Phase

Oomph is driving defensively, and thus does not attempt to Pull Ahead! He rumbles toward the Item Boxes!

Captain Falcon, like Oomph, is driving defensively, and follows to the Item Boxes!

Counselor Grimtoad hits the inside Dash Panel, gaining ONE Momentum and vaulting toward the water hazard! [2]+2 He narrowly avoids falling off the cliff, and is able to parlay his speed boost into a Pass attempt! [4]+5vs[6]+4+1 Unfortunately, he can't get past the wily Captain Falcon!

The Mysterious Mr. L lacks the Momentum to try and pass as he wavers toward the outer path and its associated item boxes!

Bill Ryzer, infuriated by MML's pass, attempts to return the favor! [2]+5vs[1]+1 He rockets past the masked character, retaking Fourth Place and losing ONE Momentum on his way to the items!

Mario has been eying Bill and MML's antics in the outer lane, and when Bill makes his pass Mario sees an opportunity for himself! [4]+3vs[2]+1 He pulls past the Mysterious Mr. L, taking Fifth Place and losing ONE Momentum!

Cleanup Phase

Oomph [6]+2 effortlessly takes the rightmost Item Box, [2] and picks up a Fake Item Box! He begins dragging it behind his Kart!

Falcon [3]+2 easily takes the leftmost Item Box, [4]+1 and snags a Blooper!

Bill [4]+2 takes the last Item Box in the Segment, [5]+3 and picks up a Red Shell! He begins dragging the powerful item behind his Kart!

Mario and the Mysterious Mr. L are disheartened to find no Item Boxes remain, but perhaps are encouraged to take an Item in the next segment... that is, if they think they can brave the Water Hazard!

Given FFS's excused absence, I'm going to let his actions be determined by popular vote, barring the people already in this race. I'll exercise veto power if I think people are trying to screw him up- I'm tempted to just run him myself, but I've never been a fan of GM PCs.

Yes, it gives you a +3 dodge bonus against green and red shells, and people attempting to pass might run into it instead. Fake item boxes for whatever reason do not provide a +3 dodge bonus.

Captain Falcon was not liking the encroaching racers behind him, or the less than stellar item he got, but you got to use what you have.

"Now you see me, now you don't"

Use Blooper, power slide in outer lane

Oomph hummed to himself, watching the FalconMan in his rear-view mirror drive furiously. But a little more cautiously, now.

Well, for this moment, Oomph was a just a little bit more furious-er.

Action: Outer Curve, Defensive Driving!

Drive Aggressively along the inner curve and aim for that item box!

Yoshi Falls- Turn Four

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th
Action Phase

Action: Outer Curve, Defensive Driving!

Oomph holds to the safe path, maintaining his Momentum and trying to preserve his lead! He gains a +1 bonus to avoid passes and attacks!

Captain Falcon was not liking the encroaching racers behind him, or the less than stellar item he got, but you got to use what you have.

"Now you see me, now you don't"

Use Blooper, power slide in outer lane

Captain Falcon unleashes THE BLOOPER, spraying his opponents windshields with ink! The inked players take a -1 Penalty to Race, Pass, and Hazard Checks until the end of next turn, or until they hit a Dash Panel or use a Mushroom or Star.

With his foes enfeebled, Captain Falcon attempts a Powerslide, [1]+1 but one again fails to execute the unfamiliar maneuver!

Counselor Grimtoad: Go for the item boxes!

Last day here, I'll do this. And DRIVE AGGRESSIVELY.

Counselor Grimtoad throws caution to the wind, aggressively cutting inside to the Item-filled rapids! [5]-1 He cuts a close line, but it pays off to the tune of ONE Momentum, albeit with a -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks!

Bill decides to wait for Grimtoad to make a mistake, choosing to powerslide the outside.

Seeing Grimtoad speed ahead, Bill decides that now is not the time to take the shot. Instead, he powerslides toward the outer lane, [4]+1-1 and successfully sparks his engines! He gains a +1 bonus to Pass Checks as he surges ahead, although the speedy Counselor Grimtoad is too far ahead to pass.

Defensive driving. Inner lane, Item boxes.

Mario follows Grimtoad towards the item boxes, but unlike the Counselor he takes it safe, gaining a +1 bonus against Passes and attacks!

Drive Aggressively along the inner curve and aim for that item box!

Darn you, darn you, darn you!  You may be ahead now, but I'll make you all pay soon enough!

The Mysterious Mr. L makes a dash for the inner path and its valuable Item Boxes, [2]-1 but as he does so his windshield is covered in ink! He swerves wildly, losing ONE Momentum and suffering a -1 Penalty to Hazard Checks!

1st      2nd      3rd      4th      5th     6th
Movement Phase

Oomph is driving defensively, and so does not attempt to Pull Ahead!

Captain Falcon does not have enough Momentum to try and pass Oomph!

Counselor Grimtoad is flying through the inside, and hits the water at full speed! [2]+2-1-1 The Ink causes Grimtoad to misjudge how close he can cut it, and drives too close to the edge of the waterfall! Counselor Grimtoad is swept off the cliff, Falling Back!

That was exactly the kind of mistake Bill Ryzer was waiting for on the outer path, as he effortlessly passes Grimtoad with no loss of Momentum! He's just behind Captain Falcon now!

Mario, seeing Grimtoad's fate, takes a much more conservative entry line to the water hazard, [4]+2+1-1 and safely skates through the turbulent water, aiming for one of the plentiful Item Boxes!

The Mysterious Mr. L is swerving wildly into the water hazard! [5]+2-1-1 Fortunately, his racing skills compensate, sending him lurching upstream against the current, safely away from the edge of the cliff! He lines up on one of the many floating Item Boxes!

Cleanup Phase

Counselor Grimtoad is plucked from certain death by the fast-acting Lakitu Towing Crew! Dangling from the Lakitu's tow line, he is dragged back to the start of BLUE before being thrust forward with TWO Momentum!

Mario takes aim at one of the Item Boxes, [4]+3-1 and easily hits, [1]+3+1 gaining a Blooper!

The Mysterious Mr. L's mad dash brings him to one of the Item Boxes, [5]+3-1 which he slides through with gusto! [1]+4 He ALSO gets a Blooper! ...is there some mathematical reason bloopers keep popping up, or do the dice just hate you guys?

MOST drivers hit Lap 2/4!

((Is the curve broad or normal?))

The outer path of Blue is a broad curve well suited for Powerslides (+1) while the inner path is more of a dog-leg with a hazard in the middle, making it quite unsuited for the maneuver (-1)

Yes, it gives you a +3 dodge bonus against green and red shells, and people attempting to pass might run into it instead. Fake item boxes for whatever reason do not provide a +3 dodge bonus.

Fake Item Boxes, at least in Mario Kart DS, don't block attacks. I think they aren't solid until deployed or something.

Mr. L held the glorious piece of wriggling Calamari in his hands, it would be the key to his success, WAHAHA!!! Go my glorious pet! He declared throwing it into the air, then swung his cart around, Now, strike their windshields with ink LIKE LIGHTNING!!!

Use the Blooper and Powerslide on the inside of the track
