//You've lost one rank point somewhere during making your char - Terrans start with 4 and you has only 3 allocated :) Fix that and I will have you added to the waiting list right away :D

Kira approached the two before stopping with apprehension. She didn't want to disturb the others in the time she had, anyway.

Still, she decides to admire the place, looking for any windows or portholes to the expanse outside.

Kira:

Quite possibly much to Kira's dissappointment, there were no real windows. Just tiny, round portholes that didn't give much of a view on the purple, blue and white swirls and clouds that were passing by the ship - these were gaseous and material vortex anomalies.

"Oh look, m'lady Anne, we have a guest!" An elderly voice suddenly boomed when the girl was looking outside. "And a sneaky one too, it seems, but what a beauty. Can you, please, come here, young lady?" It was obvious that the elderly gentleman at the projector was speaking, and his female, red-haired companion was for now just staring at Kira.

Spoiler: OOC (click to show/hide)

Kira approached the couple with nervousness. She didn't know why, but she had a feeling of foreboding in the events to come.

"Hello there, I wasn't expecting anyone else in the training rooms."

Kira:

The elderly man approached Kira suprisingly fast, using his short legs with great skill. Two seconds later and he was already leaning down, grabbing her palm and, like a true gentleman of old times, planted a kiss on it. Wordlessly, he bowed his head again.

"That's Mr.Dolmes, Arthur Dolmes, our current chief science officer." The red-haired girl spoke and sent Kira a smile. The man nodded to her words and smiled widely, showing his unnaturally white and perfectly complete teeth.

"Indeed, my dear, indeed! Call me Arthur, if that is your wish, I think we never met before? And this red-haired goddess is called Anne Quark. She is Scylla's suit pilots personal overseer, councilor and trainer. Oh wait, that must mean you're one of our newest pilots, is it correct?" The man was quite talkative at the moment, while Anne returned to work at the project in the front of the room.

Kira blushed at the greeting and followed it up with a smile. Such manners were never seen in her recent years!

"Why, yes. I am a newbie pilot. Pleased to meet you Sir Arthur, and Madam Anne." She hoped she used the right way of addressing them. "But, I'm running on a tight schedule. In about twenty-five or so minutes, I'll have to leave.

"Um, but that doesn't mean I don't want to rush you two, or anything."

It must be just nerves.

Kira:

"Bah, but time is relative! Twenty-five minutes seem to be not much, but sometimes, it is more than enough! I understand, though. Pilots are the second part of the crew that gets busy on this ship, the first, of course, being engineering team. They have to watch over the plasma chambers, the vortex engine, the computer systems, and pretty much everything else around there!" At this word, a loud blip was heard coming from the projetor and holographic image appeared in the middle of the room. It contained hand-written notes, formulas, and an outline of the ship.

"Well, with this working, I think I cannot spare more time for you, youngling." The old gentleman looked quite dissappointed because of this, and then hurriedly left Kira, concentrating purely on the image. The red-haired companion of his, however, straightened up and looked at the newcomer with somewhat curious stare.

Kira nodded at the response. Time was precious, and people had to make the most of what little was given to them.

She sidled up to Anne, "What was it that Sir Arthur was talking about?"

Kira:

Anne blinked and let out a soft hum.

"What do you mean? Just some technical mumble. And this hologram are notes of one of his colleagues from..." She quickly glanced onto a small crystalline tablet she had placed behind the projector.

"From Wolf 359 Vortex Research Station. They really try to open that vortex, but he isn't part of the team. Sir Arthur is major in biological and computer engineering. You know, it's just exchange of notes between friends. Aren't you curious one?" Anne turned the topic 180-degrees, coming with the question out of nowhere.

"Well, yes, I am curious. It's just, many things have changed in the past years. New bounds in technology and the like. If it wasn't for the War, I think I'd be working as an Engineer or Medical Officer, if it were peacetime.

"I think I'll busy myself with the training rooms in the meantime. Not wanting to interrupt."

Kira:

Anne offered a polite smile.

"Oh, suit yourself. There are virtual reality programs in case you want to train at a simulators. From suit simulations, to personal combat, shooting, there are even few 'emergency' scenarios if you wish for more thrill and mystery than real training. We of course have a normal gym in case you want to work-out, but I think you've seen that on the way here."

Tsuchi went to the bridge, hoping to find an officer to ask about recent events and the next mission.
He also asked around about acquiring new parts for his suit.

Tsuchi:

"New parts, eh? Well fella, I don't think you have proper rank to even ask for that kind of stuff. Ain't ya a newbie? Trust me, they will never let ya do any modifications." Tyler explained it aloud.

As for the bridge...

There was a closed door leading to it, a computer panel, and a card slot under it. Propably meant for ID cards - which every soldier and officer on the ship has, including suit pilots.

Tsuchi let out a loud sigh. He was itching to get in his suit and ride- a little stress relief, from being the greenhorn on deck.
Well, maybe I can scavenge something off whatever it is we fight when we fight it. If nothing else, I want to find somewhere to train until something actually happens."
Tsuchi lit his last cigarette. Nothing good ever happened when he was on his last one. He'd need a new pack soon, but no one seemed to sell them on board. Taking a long drag, he set off for the VR programs.
