This is the penguin thread. Fight against the menace!

Civilly, of course. This is all in good fun.

I don't have any, except for those people who I already know how they look like.

People are their avatars, and everyone sounds like me, aside from the occasional point where their own voice drops in, and there's like 2 people on the forum whose voice I know, so that doesn't happen often. Even for the people who I know what they look like.

People are their avatars, and their voices are... whatever.

Unless the avatar is an image of a character I recognize, or it is something that I cannot anthropomorphize, I attribute it to the poster. All people with pony avatars are ponies, Darvi is that person with the shifty eyes, Armok is a pair of red eyes and a mouth, Aqizzar as a big chin, Merchant of Menace is a white vixen, and freeformschooler has a stick body and a weird head. This is not an exhaustive list.

The little voice in my head that reads stuff sounds like me.

In my insecurity and egoism, I am much eager to know how I am perceived.

I only remember people by their nicknames because a)avatars change every so often and b)I'm so terrible with faces (or avatars) that people just all look the same to me.

You know how people have trouble telling other people from different ethnicities apart? Just like that.

Darvi is that person with the shifty eyes,
Hey that one's actually accurate.

Everyone sounds like Morgan Freeman, and you all look like humanized versions of your avatars, however human they look, they are always more human in my head.

People are their avatars, that's pretty much what one would expect from a forum. I tend to think of the avatarless as some sort of disembodied voice just appearing out of nowhere, since they are kinda hard to construct a proper mental image of.

It matters not, however, since behind every account around here there is usually some sort of human being. Or, according to some theories, Pathos.

Yep, people are their avatars. Though admittedly, I do have unique imaginary voices assigned to damn near every one of you, based on the vibe I usually get from your respective posts.

I wonder what image and voice folks have for me, considering my lack of a humanoid avatar.

Bit surprised that most people see others as their avatar. Makes sense I suppose though.

Any discussion of avatars becomes immediately worked into who people are. For instance, due to a gender mix-up for Skyrunner's avatar I now see Skyrunner as Pat from Saturday Night Live. Or Haruhi from Ouran. And King DZA is exactly his avatar. Exactly.

Loud Whispers is a dorf. Any thought of what he may or may not look like is promptly interrupted by a dorf smiley popping up over that thought.
