Hah wow, I haven't played in what seems like months. Well, I suppose it is months- i haven't played since Hallowe'en. I'm playing a Human Warrior, level 56 or something, "Blind Harry" on Ehmry Bay.

If anyone is still playing, there is a fairly hilarious and terrifying April Fools event going on today.
I would tell you more, but I would spoil it.

For all those Tyrians still out there:
The April Feature Pack is out now.
Basically, Traits are reworked completely, and not in an entirely bad way.
Dyes are now account wide
WvW Rank is now account wide
New Wardrobe system, which is effectively a streamlined Transmutation system.
Armor repairs are now free
Respecing is now free and can be done anywhere.
And I'm sure a few other things.

A few of those things do sound awesome.   That means in WvW too?

A summary of everything in this update pack.

I haven't played in a few months, but once exams are over I might drop by and check out the changes. Sadly, the megaserver system isn't live in high-level areas until late this year, but the rest of the changes should be live.

Given the new megaserver system, we should really try to hammer out a B12 guild now.

I still play! The single player story thing is longer than I expected. Also the boss sucks.

I finally got my artificing to 400!  Planning on how to get it to 500, it's going to be interesting.  On the plus side, one of the tridents I crafted on the way up was better than the one I had on me.  Tried out Drytop, it's an awfully small place, and the rewards don't seem that amazing.  I suppose they're trying to avoid power creep, but that pretty much means the players who've been playing for ages don't really benefit.  I think.

Good news, they started releasing permanent story/content patches/episodes every two weeks. The catch is that to unlock the episodes you need to log in at least once during the two weeks they're active, after that you can replay their content whenever you want. Gw2 is currently on the third episode of this new living story chapter so if like me you missed an episode, know that episodes can be bought/unlocked permanently for 200 gems each, which you can currently get for 20-30 golds depending on that day's going price. With the changes to dungeon rewards, gold is much easier to come by without having to farm. A bunch of features were added and there were multiple balancing passes, some new traits and skills for all the classes.

So basically they decided their pay-once model should be for active players only and everyone else gets a pay-as-you-go model? Isn't that backwards? The story's only going to get more expensive the less I play the game.

Well...  by that logic, you got less reason to go back for the story?
