Well that is hilarious. Especially since Steam eventually won the distribution wars, and is certainly the least evil of them all.

Heh, that's exactly what I thought. I used to be the same exact way about Steam and absolutely refused to use it. Now I buy most of my games through there...

Actually, I've always wondered where that horrible troll avatar was from, and how to go about making it into a tf2 spray.
I was obsessed with a mini-seres called The 10th Kingdom a little over 3 years ago.  I even read the entire novelization.  I've found better things now but it's worth a watch.

It makes me happy Various Nonsense has the same acronym as Visual Novel.

Wow. Looking at when I first registered, and reading up when I first actually started posting, apparently I arrived at the tail end of most of all the craziness that was going on. I suppose it was for the better, especially since I was in a transitional period from going from one forum to another. I missed what could have possibly turned me away from the forums, especially since Something Awful was becoming something rather hostile to be around (I even stopped visiting the main site; got bad vibes off it in general). Compared to what I remember from spending my time over at their forums, and looking at these forums (and even the times before I even took an interest in DF (or was aware of it), which eventually led me to these forums), I don't think any other place can beat these forums.

Re-reading that just makes me think of this song.

July 5th, 2007. I guess it had something to do with the fourth of July?

And then there's this thread, a true titan of the oldest age...

Just to show:

Bunch of older avatars I had at some point.

I miss this one.

It shouldn't really surprise me that I'm the second post in one of those threads.  I'm not afraid to say it, I had a lot of fun back then.

It's still a little bittersweet when a search takes me to some long ago thread, and there's a few lost accounts there that still have a penguin avatar or something.  Ah, memories.

I would use it if it didn't have a cripplingly large file size and the fact I don't like gif avatars that much anymore.

Fun fact, to make that gif I played the DVD on my computer, paused it, screencap'd, played it for a second, paused it, screencap'd, repeat repeat repeat again.  I definitely went over 100 frames at least.  I have no idea what the fuck I was thinking and you can tell the frame rate wobbles and crops oddly because each of those frames was manual baby.

It took me the whole day.

Just stumbled across this pic, and my first thought was 'holy crap, it's Draco Malfoy cosplaying as Kefka'.

Here are two posts made by Vaiolis that should show what Declaration of independence was about. You're welcome.

I can't quote them so I have to copy paste them, I can make screenshots later, if someone wants me to.
