This will make it more interesting to manage stores since you will have to take into consideration what will you sell, you will actually have to check the demand and everything, instead of just buying everything out of B2B and Import.

It will probably crush a lot of businesses making money from B2B. Making producing goods even less profitable.

Not if Scott limits the import market somehow (you can only buy 10 types of products which change every day, or you can only import materials, not finished goods).

b2b is already useless, it's a convenience but you can research quality you need and obtain stuff at a fraction of the price if you produce it yourself.

I think there should be something that favor specialization for b2b to work; it has been far too easy to build an end to end chain for car manufacturing; the only time I need to build off b2b is when I overexpand one part of the chain and the other haven't already followed.

Limiting research could help prevent the ability to do end-to-end production.
I ,as an agriculture company, have found it way to easy to produce more water than i need off a single well brought using pocket change.
Researching to build factories and shops might help prevent this. So that you can't just decide to sell everything and turn your fields into airplane production lines.  :P

8 is way to low for shops and i am worried about my B2B sales which are the backbone of my company with this change.

EDIT: whelp i seem to be fine. Cherry demand still healthy, just sold 1370000 for a total of $2,472,850.00.

We just need to get Toady to embed a Lisp interpreter into DF.  Learning lambda calculus in order to play the game wouldn't make DF's learning curve much steeper.

Right now i'm making all of my money from B2B so i wouldnt say it's useless. Having no stores means i can invest all of my money directly into bigger factories and wasting less in maintenance/salaries/etc. And so far, there IS a market for my goods, since people are buying them. I could have better margins in stores but it would also take longer to get the money, which means longer until i can reinvest.

Besides, and most importantly, using the b2b market is much more unpredictable and interesting than playing by yourself with closed loop production chains and absolutely no interaction with other players. I would argue that since this is a game, having fun is more important than pure profit (and honestly i'm not sure which is more efficient for profit).

I really unlike the new warehouses. it's no longer possible to relegate low quality coal to electricity and high q coal to steel production.

Just dump the products you don't want to use on B2B for an extreme price (like $999999999 per unit). This way you can keep different quality products in store. B2B is the new warehouse.

They're nearly as bad as badgers. Build a couple of anti-buzzard SAM sites marksdwarf towers and your fortress will look like Baghdad in 2003 from all the aerial bolt spam. You waste a lot of ammo and everything is covered in unslightly exploded buzzard bits and broken bolts.

Maybe there's somebody who'd want to buy 2.5M of apple cider at $25? I can make it cheaper if you contact me.

well, DENC costs 37 and has dividends of 0.15. but I'll keep increasing them, since profits increased steadily. tomorrow it should become 0.2.

Sadly there are no shares available at present time.

well, truth to be told I am issuing more, but I don't know how many.
edit: nevermind, issuing more stock is disabled.

you can still try to convince dariush to drop his lot of shares, that would also make them cheaper.
