You can't do a closed-loop accelerator as Toady's said the carts will derail on tight turns past a certain speed threshold

Until he adds Portal guns.

Oh wow, that's a hell of a risky strategy. It'll be exciting to see whether or not it pays off.

When my next turn comes around you're all in for it though, so you'd best hope someone pulls off something spectacular to throw my game. I'm a bit rusty but I was a master of Mornington Crescent back at university.

I'm curious to know how long it takes for a barrel of booze to get hot enough to go boom, and if you could get barrels to be dropped into a minecart, lit on fire, and ejected from your fort directly into a horde of gobbos, then a large monorail close to the sky drops in my swordwarves as though they were dropped in from space.

So yeah. If Toady gives us speed, temp, and all those other gneiss things in the RAWS, DF will never be the same again.

YES!!! A new sport.

Grand arenas will be created... And the losers shall plummet to their deaths... on serrated disc traps. The winners will land safely on ramps on the other side.

Honestly I would prefer swords over fists. More chance of severed bodyparts.
