You had one that kinda worked before, remember? It's just your attempts to continuously re-roll working on it that resulted in digital harassment.
((One I had was the optical tracker program, the one that followed objects. I was trying to expand it with parallax distance tracking when my fingers assaulted me, but this second time I wanted to make a second program. But oh well, I've got time. ))
There are roughly 60 hours of footage available for each member of a 10 man team. How you want to handle viewing it?
((Similarly, I got time. Pop over to the party to grab a snack and a drink, and start watching.)) First things first though, look for the final recorded hour of each team member, starting with the leader, notice oddities in behavior or odd communications. The rest of it can come in the lots of time we'll get while monitoring the base.
The final hour of recorded footage from the team leader is just of him walking out away from the base, towards the north by the look of it. The video just kind of cuts to static after a little while. Hm.
The final hour of video for the rest of the team is just the same thing from different angles: They all load into a shuttle, presumably the one they came in on, and start off over the crater. Almost immediately the ship struggles and then is yanked down. All the cameras, and the screaming, cut off soon after that as the ship rolls down hill.
Prop self against the wall while eating some snacks.
"Well then, how did everyones day go?"
You fill your belly with snackfood and engage in smalltalk. Yay for banality!
Lars looked at the datapad, puzzled. "This is odd. It appears the team leader of the previous team was not with the group that went into the crater. After that, he mapped the edges of the crater, then started going beyond it. He ended up wondering about what's outside the designated mapping area."
Lars looked at it again.
"He must have been confused, though. Says he was wondering what happened to the team that built the base. Steve said it was his team, so something must have affected his memory. Strange."
Check the pad for any of the mapping he did- if available, upload it to ALVIN.
Either way, grab a light drink and toast the room.
"May the gods watch over us all."
Well, there's no mapping data on here, so you just go get drunk and scream the praises of a particularly nice PDA.
"Bugger."
Leave party, head to Planning room.
You wander over to the planning room, booze still in hand.
((Soon now))
Continue back and report findings then get medically checked, fuel up the jetbike and if able take a volunteer and show them the blue thing.
You make it back to the base and immediately get yourself some food and drink from the party thats going on. While there you ask mesk If he'll give you a check up in a minute. While you wait for him to be ready you go out and check one of the rocket bikes. They're fueled but look like single seaters. Although...it looks like someone could cling onto the cage on the top...
Missed me.Vich takes up his digital version of HMRC Pantheon book, and searches it for a god of diplomacy. After that, he searches for a god of spies, and a god of deceit. He notes all the gods that fit the description, and reads the first entry he found that matches.
((For how to count up the voting, I originally planned to go with the Australian system I outlined in my original post where I described the rules for the voting, but since people only gave three choices, it's kind of hard to get a majority. So I suggest checking first if it works, and if it doesn't, probably do it the simplest way possible.))
After Vich retroactivelly completed the last turns action, he got up, and joined the group of people gathered around Lars and his datapad.
"I don't think it was his memory. Or anything wrong with him, for that matter.
Honestly, I always doubted Steve's words that HMRC Team could build a base anywhere, much less here. This base was probably built by the specialists Steve and other HMRC ships keep on the board. It may even have been lowered as already completed boxes, and simply joined together by the professionals. After that, they left the planetoid, and dropped the convicts in. I don't know why they would tell them, or us, that the base was made by the team before. Maybe to scare some caution into us. Well, it's either that, or the planetoid is traveling through time. I don't have any other ideas for now, maybe later."
Doesn't look like there's a god for diplomacy, go figure but the one that fits your other criteria is:
Sri-haldon:Goddess of the Hidden blade: Goddess of the Ambush, Sri-haldon the shadow, The trickster, The Dark walker. The picture on the opposing page is a vague image of a humanoid shape hidden in shadow. The only definite aspect of the picture is the glint off a knife in the figure's hand. The symbol at the bottom of the page is an eye obscured by a knife.
“Sri-haldon is the goddess of the hidden blade, of ambush, treachery, lies and covert actions. She provides the protection of darkness and stealth to those with her mark, as well as the guile to trick their enemies and persuade their allies.”
try to find a driving simulator and practice driving the 4 man craft
((Dont wanna crash into a gravity seep now do we?))
No VR's around here my friend. Only practical experience. You're flying and crashing by the seat of your pants. However, I should point out that, after you fly a ship once or twice, you no longer have to do rolls for normal things like taking off and flying around, only extraordinary things.
Take my exosuit, my laser and a few sampling boxes. If I can dig deep and take good samples with my robo-hands, then take a couple of ground samples from near the base and a couple of ground samples from the edge of the crater and label them accordingly. Else use my laser to take the samples.
See if the shuttle we arrived in can easily be refueled and if it can be put in the garage.
If at any time I see Michael Alexander trying to take a rocket bike, stop him and tell him that he can't take a bike until the team leader gives him permission. If I see him returning and he's not in a good condition, help him get to the medbay.
"Yeah, I don't know what kind of preservatives they use but the food is excellent! And tastes excellent too!"
You dig some stone out of the ground from around the base and place it in a sample container.
The shuttle you arrived in can be refueled, but can't be put in the garage; not enough room.
Bishop turned to look at Mesk with a slightly worried look on his face. "Please don't say that. If the planetoid is infact intelligent, then we are effectively living in a wound in it's skin, and I don't want to know what it might do if it realises that. We have enough weird to go through as it is, and we only just got here."
He straightens and finishes off his corn dog before grabbing a sizeable portion of food and drink to cart off with him as he turns to leave.
"Well, I got work to do so I best get right on that. Oh, and I guess I'm ok with labeling the flight capable craft after birds, but it doesn't really fit with the ground vehicles so think of something else for those. Talk to you ladies later."
Grab a good amount of food to eat and something nice to drink and head off to fix the morgue problem after reattaching the vent cover in the barracks and returning the screwdriver to the garage. Get myself a welder to cut open the panel and a replacement cable from the garage if needed and have Alvin turn off the power heading to the morgue before I start fixing anything.
Eat a good amount of food and grab something to drink to take with me for later, then reattach the hatch for the vent and take the screwdriver back to the garage. Have one of my designated underlings go fix the morgue for me, someone with actual ability to fix things preferably, and head off to the garage to have a look at the drones to determine their capabilities (range, fuel life, scanning ability, controls, etc).
You eat some food, grab a beverage, screw the vent, and go to look at the drones. They have a range of less then a zone, although thats mostly because they can't hold any more data then that. Their fuel is just a little bit more then their memory. Their scanning is mostly visual with laser range finding. Their controls are pretty much just a capacity to input certain parameters to a preprogrammed flight.
