Inspect elevator. Try to work out how to operate the thing, search for a control panel if needed. Don't actually activate anything yet.
'Ok guys, stand back, I'll try to get this thing going. Wouldn't want to get anyone hurt while doing so. Secure the perimeter and watch my back while I work on it.
Bishop, you can scout ahead, if you don't mind going alone in there. Remember, none of us have rocket packs, so if anything goes wrong, you're on your own until we can get to you.'
You step into to the elevator, not much more then a large platform between 4 beams that it uses to travel up and down on, and look around. In one corner there is a raised pedestal with a control panel on it. You walk over, blow off the dust and look at the panel. It has 8 buttons, all in a vertical line, set inside a simple, line drawn image of the tower, with one button per large multifloor section. There are labels next to the buttons but they're not in a language you recognize.
"Of course." you mutter, resting your hands on the panel, "That would be too easy."
"Alright then. Don't go anywhere without telling me."
Activate motion scanners and take off up the shaft partway. See if there's anything interesting up there.
You zip up the shaft toward the light. The light is coming from a rather bright ring of LED lights arranged around what looks to be a large doorway with a pair of sliding metal doors. The doors are shut, of course. Perhaps if you had some sort of sexy elevator he might be able to woo this wall and get it to give you access to it's openings.
Roger uses his razor to mark the wall of the hallway they came from, then looks down another one.
You mark the wall and then look down one of the other halls. It looks pretty much exactly like the other hall. Huh.
Stay with bishop
You try to grab hold of Bishop's legs but he jets up and away before you can get a good grip. Aw...
And now the separation anxiety starts.
