Miss Ferratum-Inanis? Are you still with us?
Using the lantern and the suit's lamps, walk round the Citadel, continiously looking around for Simus; when the rope length comes to be insufficient, untie Milno's rope from me (thus adding the whole length of my own rope to the 'leash'). Upon encircling the Citadel, increase the radius of the search and go in the opposite direction (so that I won't wrap my 'leash' around the Citadel). If my own rope's length is also not enough, add the lightrope to the 'leash'; if even that is not enough, abandon the illuminated leash and go on my own.

Play Beethoven's 'Moonlight Sonata'.
You can't seem to find that on your suit's memory, but you do find this.

Yeah, still here. Cursory examination, legs are definitely busted, can't feel anything in my prosthetic arm, but since it's still moving, it's not shredded. Back's not broken, at least, not the spine. May have re-concussed myself, but while I feel terrible, fairly sure I'm not actively dying.

All in all, I'm in better condition than I have any right to be in, considering how far I fell.

"Did our lights out there survive?"

Think. How likely is it that the graveyard is in fact some kind of sunken city or at least building, and the obelisks that formed the path merely were the highest points? Also try and think about other phenomena of the anomaly and what they might mean.

(Attempt to) Crack a glowstick, then.
[end:4]
You reach into your bag and pull out a glowstick. You crack it between two fingers and shake it till the dull blue light forms a bubble around you. You're still moving, still being pulled along by the flow of the sand. You can feel the back of your suit scraping against the stone under the sand and the amount of sand under you slowly lessening. You look around for something familiar and find nothing but darkness and sand.

If my own rope's length is also not enough, add the lightrope to the 'leash'; if even that is not enough, abandon the illuminated leash and go on my own.
You circle the citadel, an action requiring both ropes and part of the rope light. In the time it takes you to do this, the last vestiges of sand on the ground flow away, however a steady deluge continues to pour out of what you now recognize to be the true entrance to citadel 1, previously buried several hundred feet down in the sand. You start out away from the citadel and find something you weren't expecting; another building, different from the the citadel, and , if your memory and spacial awareness serves, located just to the side of where the lit path once was.

(Attention: Simus is now out of radio contact)

Play Beethoven's 'Moonlight Sonata'.

It is. It's just the perfect mix of strategy and action, with so much variety in abilities that you can do practically anything. I've been trying to get it to work on the 360 for a long time but never can manage it. Oh well, here's hoping that in 10 years we have xbox emulation.

I'll try to read the last pages and post an action, but be warned I may stay a couple of days without connection depending on how things turn out to be.))

Check if Maurice is still connected to the leash.

((Aww fuck. How fast was that sand moving to get me a couple hundred meters or whatever the radio distance is from everyone else?))

Attempt to flip onto my front, and crawl Terminator-style against the direction the sand went in, while keeping ahold of the glowstick. Alternately, if there is still enough sand to drag me, attempt to at least stop being dragged.

Hello? Anyone getting this transmission?

Simulacrus is not anywhere close to the Citadel, and does not respond for some reason.
There is barely any sand here now, so she must've been dragged with it... and I cannot guess how far; probably further than I can go while still tied to the rope. Oh, and here is the true entrance to the Citadel; the sand is still flowing out if it, unfortunately.
Also, there is another building here; it was previously completely buried beneath the sand. I can give the video, if anyone wants that.
Guess it is time to abandon my 'leash' and go for a deeper search. Well, the sand can get back pretty much anytime, sure, but I think it would be more efficient if someone joined me here. ...Hesitant about the risk, actually. The choice is yours.

Check the sand containers, and make another circle according to the earlier plan (increase the search radius as I go make another circle, now walking in the opposite direction); keep calling out for Simulacrus (over the comms).

"We've got more rope I'm sure. At least I think so. Don't abandon the rope."

Hand my rope to Milno assuming I still have it, so that he can lengthen Maurice's leash.

You can feel it still playing out, so he seems to be. Or whatever ate him is walking away.

You roll over and try to arrest your movement long enough for the rest of the sand to pass.
[str:3]
Your metal fingers grind worthlessly against the smooth sandstone, slowing you by a tiny fraction. The sand continues to drag you along, but it's moving past you a bit more now.

Simulacrus is not anywhere close to the Citadel, and does not respond for some reason.

You walk a ever widening circle until the rope, even with the addition of more on milno's end, goes taut. On your trip you encounter dozens of other buildings, small in comparison to the Citadel, judging by the base you can see, but massively tall if the spires and obelisks you saw earlier were their apexes.

"We've got more rope I'm sure. At least I think so. Don't abandon the rope."

You hand your length of rope to Milno. You're beginning to think that maybe it might be a good idea to leave this blasted place while any of you are alive.

Hand my rope to Milno assuming I still have it, so that he can lengthen Maurice's leash.
Use the rope to make Maurice's leash longer.
You use Chin's rope to make Maurice's leash a bit longer, letting it play out slowly through your hands until it reached the end. You give it a few tugs to let him know he's at his limit.

I repeat, is anyone getting these radio messages?
The only reply is static.

Consider everything I know about the shape of the Citadel and the movement of the sand. Try to figure out what it could be for, or if there's any likely qualities it has.
