Faith recoiled a bit from May.

Travis taps his foot impatiently as May scurries back down the rope.

"Enjoy the view? No matter. Just try not to cut Faith's other hand off"

Travis equips his harness and approaches the rope. He hammers a piton at about shoulder height. He climbs the rope a little and attaches the harness to the piton, freeing his hands and allowing him to hammer another piton in higher. He continues this process until he reaches the top of the wall. He patterns the pitons like this:

To allow the climbers after him to use them as steps.

Put the helmet back on Simus.
Well, I didn't see any blood or anything, and, hopefully, soon the symptoms will subside. Just rest and try not to move until then. And... inform me if your condition worsens.

All right, now that I'm fairly sure Miss Ferratum-Inanis won't require urgent medical attention in the nearest future, we may proceed without distraction. How may be of help to you, colleagues? Oh, and I suggest we use the advanced kit - the tools at least.

Assist May in the operation to reattach Faith's hand. Suggest using the tools from the advanced kit.

Charro grimaced, and quickly turned the camera away from him as he hastily shoved his helmet back on.
Once he'd recovered, he raised his faceplate and tried again, hoping the camera could pick up his charming smile.

>Try again to film self with team in the background, this time with my helmet on, faceplate raised.
Once again, give a helpful description of events thus far, along with a commentary on what the team are doing.

Gorat sends a private message to Milno. "I guess that'll keep him occupied, but was that really a good idea?" Then he considers the alternatives.  He, Maurice, Faith, and Simus were incapacitated in various ways, Feyri, Thomas, and Mason were stasis'd, leaving Milno and Travis, ... and Charro and May. While Gorat had no quarrel with Travis, it seemed that there was some bad blood between Milno and Travis. "I guess I see. It keeps him occupied, the camera running and out of more troublesome hands, you free to act, and Travis working."

Milno smirks, sending an answer to Gorat's question.

"The guy with the destroyed tophat isn't exactly brave, so the camera will tend to be in safety and also get him something to do aside from loitering, even if he spouts nonsense at it. It's best than leaving it on the ground, which was the second option, since I may need to be ready for eventualities."

"Also, loner likes to be a special cookie, so letting him do something that may be useful for the team creates a situation where everyone has to gain."

Ohh, that's not nice. I'm putting this helmet back on as soon as you're done, doc, so... hurry.

Examine helmet for damage.
You squint and grit your teeth; you could swear your eyeballs are freezing.

The helmet looks fine, it's got a few scratches but nothing major.

"Oh, I'm a sort of medic!"

Reattach Faith's hand using stuff from Maurice's kit.
You climb back down the rope you just struggled up and steal Maurice's kit to try and reattach faith's hand. Maurice seems a bit annoyed at first but gets over that almost instantly once he remembers exactly what he's dealing with.
[Med:3+1]
[Maurice med:2+1]
Though they weren't capable enough on their own, together May and Maurice have just enough competence between them to pull off the surgery, reconnecting Faith's hand and getting blood flow through. It's still a useless lump of meat and broken bones, but at least it's her useless lump of meat and broken bones. They splint it up quite tightly so as to stop it from moving and tearing off and then seal it as best they can in bandages to keep out the cold.

"Don't wack it against anything" Maurice starts

"Or it's gonna fall off" May finishes.

He patterns the pitons like this:

       .

.

      .

.

To allow the climbers after him to use them as steps.

The rope is a good few feet from the actual wall itself, too far to actually use the pitons very well. However, if you grappling hooked a rope up onto the walkway, closer to the wall, that could work. As it is though, the rope is just far enough away from the wall to make the pitons useless.

You grab the helmet from Simus' shivering hands and put it back on her, sealing it up again.

"Try not to let yourself die of hypothermia or oxygen deprivation" You say before going to help May.

"Exploration log, day 3. We've discovered what we believe to be the fabled "Lost citadel" and have made several attempts to climb up into the higher reaches of the structure. Our attempts have been fruitless so far, resulting only in injuries, though we have hung a length of ropelight," You pan to show the ropelight's path up to the walkway and down to the ground, "so as to see better. More updates as the situation changes."

((I would think the ropelight would stil be tied to me, so now it'd be hanging from both sides of the platform.))

T-t-t-hanks, doc.

Slowly stop shivering and get up, examine the pitons being put up.

Good idea with those, the rope is more than strong enough, for two of us, at least, but that'll make it easier for everyone. And maybe make it a little harder to screw up getting on the platform.

((A good speech roll! I think we'll have to deal with frog rain soon.))

Milno tugs lightly on the rope, rolling it around his fist before finally sighing.

"I'll try to get there and pull people up soon. I think these ropes are actually designed to handle the weight of several people, since they are part of climbing gear." he says, wondering if his power armor is enough to help him up safely and still a bit unsure due to the fact some of these modern concepts had only been introduced to him after he was arrested. Living in a planet where most of its surface was a giant "countryside" really didn't help sometimes.

"If the rope breaks nonetheless, we can try the grappling hook, although then the rest of the group should clear away so it doesn't hit anyone."

Climb up the rope. Get away from Travis and also try the grappling hook, but at a different section of the wall, farther from the team.

"Hey Worst Medic, considered cutting a hole through the wall with the cutting torch already? It may be an alternative if everything else fails."

"The wall's big. Bigger than the one at The Tower. I assume it will be wider also. The one at The Tower was at least a few meters thick. Faith is going to have a long way to go; I'd recommend saving the fuel.

Anyway, I'm going to toss the grappling hook up. While I'm sure our suits could negate the force of impact, I recommend everyone get a good few yards away.

Also, Milno, the rope is a meter away from the wall. That brings up a curious point of what it is tied to. It may not be possible to scale the wall without using the walkway, which means you won't be able to pull people up. In either case, could you wait to climb until I get a hold with the grappling hook?"

Travis waits for everyone to clear, or at least everyone that wants to, and then starts swinging (or shooting?) the grappling hook up at the walkway at the point it connects to the wall, repeating until success is achieved or a problem arises. He then enacts his previous plan, using the grappling hook rope instead. If the grappling hook doesn't come with a rope, he takes a rope from Faith, she probably won't be needing it any time soon.

((If rope is needed))

"Faith, I can have your rope, right? Thanks. Knew you wouldn't mind"

"Well, then I'm not climbing. The prospect of being hit by a grappling hook midway is not a good one, and we know our team is prone to disaster, either by bad luck or other things." he says, grinning and eyeing Faith.

"Trying a grappling hook in another section of the wall, though."

It is still tied to you and is going up through one side of the walkway and down through the other. Just like you.

Ok, if you're at 90 degrees around the circle of the tower (assuming the path is at 0 degrees), how far do you want to move for your throw?

"The wall's big. Bigger than the one at The Tower. I assume it will be wider also. The one at The Tower was at least a few meters thick. Faith is going to have a long way to go; I'd recommend saving the fuel.

((If rope is needed))

"Faith, I can have your rope, right? Thanks. Knew you wouldn't mind"
You steal Faith's rope and begin your attempt at scaling mt.bighunkofrock.
[str:5]
You swing the grappling hook around till you've built up a rather massive amount of force and then hurl it up and slightly forward, aiming for  the walkway. The hook sails clear over the walkway and, as you pull  the rope back in, catches on the top of one of the openings on the side opposite to you. You give it a good few tugs to make sure it's on there solidly before you start climbing.

[str:1]
You grab the rope and rather foolishly attempt to yank yourself up off the ground with a single pull of one arm. [end:5] The rope slides through your fingers uselessly and you're left standing there rather foolishly. You try again.
[str:1]
This time you try and give yourself a bit of an advantage by jumping onto the rope. You grab it and promptly slide right back down and land hard, flat on your back. [end:2] You knock the air out of your lungs and sit there, gasping stupidly for several minutes.

Help my patients get safely away from the grappling hook range; have a light nap there.
You help Faith and Simus back down the way you came and set them down next to one of the lanterns, taking a place next to them on the wall.

((Nevermind, since Travis got his right I have no further need. It was more of a safety mechanism anyway.))

Noticing Travis was able to throw the hook correctly and is trying to climb the rope, Milno makes use of the opportunity of not having to catch anyone else to sit down on the sand and watch.

"I can try next." he said, watching as Travis failed twice in his attempts to go up.
