((I suppose you're right on both accounts. I now realize I'm evolving my character as I go and not keeping him too consistent. My original character was very shallow, and to be completely honest, didn't really have a personality preplanned. The last mission was more of to develop a character personality, which is why there was a large jump. I'm still working on it. Right now Travis is more of a leader personality from his VR Simulation Background, and a little cold when it comes to his team mates, though warming up over time when things don't go wrong. He follows logic and tries to view things from a tactical view. I assume I'll make him more and more bold as he gains experience in missions.

My original character's only feature was that he was going to be logical, for reference.

And before you say 'RP however you want', working on this helps build believable characters if I ever decide to write a book. I've been told I'm a fairly good writer and might take a shot at it.))

(I'd also recommend changing the wording of 'surrounded by idiots.' Milno and - oddly - Maurice are both surprisingly competent, and a few people have yet to out themselves as idjits. Faith though... she may have graduated from 'Worst Medic' to 'Liability'... >.>)

"Oh dear." Charro grimaced, steadying himself before glancing around at his companions, checking their positions and running to a spot where he hopefully wouldn't get caught in their crossfire.
He shouted to the others, "Hold onto your hats, people!"
He did just this, loosening the catches on his blade-hat and popping the circular blade off, holding it above his head in a ready- and dramatic looking- pose. He scanned the many pits around the crater Faith just made, tensely waiting for the first glimpse of whatever horrors lurked below.
"And let's try not to go shooting each other, either!"

Stop filtering out Faith and Milno.
Kneel at a  point where I have good line of sight to the pit Faith disturbed, and get my rifle out. Fire at anything nonhuman that decides to do more than poke its head out.
Listen around to make certain we won't get ambushed from the other pits. If that should happen, turn towards one of those for the above.
