I believe not. Not that it matters anyhow, Legendaries tend to go through stone like a corpse through a wood chipper.

They wouldn't mine faster, but would make awesome weapons for your squad of pick-armed soldiers.

They will not mine faster. They might move a bit faster though, since addy picks are lightweight

I usually upgrade my miners to steel picks for self-defense purposes, I once had a squad of gobbos descend on a miner and get horribly crippled in the chase - the first goblin lost his hand trying to grab the miner, the next one lost his middle spine and choked to death and the last one was killed outright by a pick through the skull, the rest ran off.

It's actually not that fast. It takes time to grind up, like anything.

Not that I know anything about this. I just saw it in a movie once.

On topic, when I recruited my entire civilian force to combat HFS, I made some adamantine picks for my miners to wield. They got a few kills, iirc.

But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Don't you mean like a wood chipper through a corpse...?

What if you first sharpened the woodchipper?

I have no idea how that's work...

I think adamantine picks are a waste of adamantine, mostly because adamantine is better used as axes or swords.

A steel pick with legendary mining should be able to kill all enemies in the game anyways.

They technically would mine faster, but only because the miners will be able to walk to the next square a tiny bit faster (adamantine won't weigh them down so much).

It won't make any real difference though, might take an extra few secs off if you mine a whole z-level.

I disagree. As far as adamantine is awesome and all, it is the worst possible material for maces and any other blunt weapons, this includes picks, because they dont have a slashing/stabbing attack.

native platinum picks ftw

It's not a stab, but it is an edge attack type (Strike, to be specific). judging by the stats, It's not quite ideal for a piercing weapon, but it is pretty good, and it doesn't even have a blunt-type attack like all other weapons have. So yeah, Cotton Candy picks should be more deadly than platinum ones.

No! No! I will not massacre my children. Instead, I'll make them corpulent on crappy mass-produced quarry bush biscuits and questionably grown mushroom alcohol, and then send them into the military when they turn 12...

He means that, the way you worded the phrase, the comparison of the legendary miner was to the corpse rather than to the woodchipper.

I once had a Legendary miner chop off the foot of a goblin who caught him in ambush. Sent the entire goblin squad running :D
