I can imagine, 20 years later, minecraft has integrated all current mods into the actual game. The game becomes so complex that people cannot actually experience everything it has to offer in their lifetime. These people end up getting elected into office, in which they push for longevity and higher wages/robot workers so people have to work less and can play more minecraft.

Corporations design a machine that simulates minecraft. It's like you're in the game. Eventually everyone is hooked up to machines playing minecraft run by a computer. But then some catastrophe happened and no one unplugged them from the machines. They played simulated minecraft for so long they forget what real life is like. The machines end up losing power and they are finally released. Knowing only that they have to survive, they began collecting resources to build their great empire. Unfortunately they all broke their hands within a few minutes. And yes, I have indeed recently found Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal

Fun fact: That is actually what already happened. Real life is a lot more detailed than the relatively crude simulation we live out lived in.

What are you kidding, it crashes on a weekly basis, you just don't notice because of the rollback and all.
Check the universal error log, it is a mess of bugs.

Hmm, it is a lot easier to stack a lot of tech mods together than magic mods. Seems the industry fans prefer to make everything compatible...

That might be because everyone has their own vision of magic, but technology stuff has a real-life comman inspiration.

Magic is just technology where physical laws are different.

But no-one can agree which laws to change.

Well many of these mods have some set of 'elements', and it seems common that you can collect an amount of an element, so standardizing that would be a good start. An API that includes all the most common ones and a means to store them would go a long way.

Anyway I wasn't referring to content, but config. Tech mods seem to just have a lot less item ID conflicts, while I had to rummage through a lot of files to get some magic ones working together.

Yep.

There's quite a few possible universes when the laws of physics are malleable, you know :P

I'm pretty sure this is one of them... What with model dependent realism and all.

Also: Buildcraft VS Dark's Assembly Line. Any reason to have one or the other or both?

Buildcraft has more mod integration? I don't know honestly, never used the assembly line mod.

I don't use buildcraft for its item movement anyway.

Next version is adding in a laser pointer that works as a mouse, as of now you need to run over and bonk the link or textbox you want to interact with.

1: What is that called?
2: Can I make it smaller so I can put it in my house and take a forum break while I wait for items to smelt?

1: Web Displays
2: Yes, although the display doesn't scale things down, so it'd be a bit of a pita to navigate on a really small screen.
