When you find a spot where the rocks consistently drop a particular ore, that means there's a vein nearby.
I recently found a huge casserite vein barely under the dirt using this method.

Wow, thanks for mentioning that artist MoM! I like electronic/videogame inspired music, and some of "reynard"'s "bands" do that really well. He even has a webradio thing. Amazing how many different styles one person with synthesizers can do when they don't have to keep up a single coherent image.

On topic, I've really got to get off my butt and try that TFC server...

Are you on the TFC server?

nah, just learning everything on SSP.

also, clay appears to have become the rarest block all of a sudden.
In TFC clay deposits aren't usually on the surface but are underneath grass and sand near water.

Yeah, TFC wiki is woefully inadequate.

Same reason nobody else has done so.

Laziness.

Also I don't play the mod much.

I just stumble upon it from time to time.
The trick is not actually looking for it.

Wiki for general TFC rock formations and such.

(Seriously, it follows geology fairly closely...)

Needless to say, I did this in creative, as the grand total of diamonds needed would be huge.

If you did this in creative, why do you have a huge number of batboxes instead of, say, one or two MFEs or MFSUs? You also could have added a bit more power and replaced the iron furnaces with electric or induction furnaces so you don't have to keep them stocked.

Thermal expansion is awesome.

Being able to configure the inputs and outputs, and have the machine automatically output to valid destinations is sweet.

The block up top turns water and lava into cobble, which is fed into the block below it and crushed into sand and fed into the block on the bottom.
The block on the left crushes ores into pulverised ore, and feeds it into the block on the bottom.

The block on the bottom smelts the ore into two ingots, requiring one sand and producing 1 unit of slag with each operation.

Yes. I really do love that mod, and hope other mods steal all of its ideas.

Yes. I love not having 8 separate mod tools.

Too bad Eloraam guards her code like a hawk and its eggs, and expressly forbids the modification of it.
Mmmh, I love the smell of hypocrisy in the morning.
