As a matter of fact, the very producers of that video run a bow-fishing group that takes people on boat rides. I assume these videos are promotional in nature, to advertise there business virally.

Fish do make great fertilizer, and I don't see why it would be illegal. But, I don't know for sure.

Part of the problem is that "carp" in the US typically refers to European carp, which taste like mud -- similar to wild catfish.

I find European carp from my local lake to be quite delicious. Though it does depend a lot on water quality - carp from muddy water tend to taste like mud.

IIRC they're harder to clean than other fish due to having a more cartilage-filled frame.

For my 2bits, a few Southern engineers could probably do rather well against carp, if you get my drift.
