well, they are carp. now I understand why dorves dodge into rivers. they jump out, hit the dwarf in the face, and the dwarf jumps so much he falls in.

The backstory is that these are invasive Asian carp that are rapidly carpifying every body of fresh water in the continental United States. They have few predators here (hence carpsplosion), but they have this reflex to jump up into the air when something large approaches at high speed.

Efforts to rebrand them as something more appetizing or get the government to put up a barrier to stop their menacing advance have been unsuccessful. Our only line of defense is a couple of redneck engineers and drunken fools with morningstars.
