I cant get anywhere at all really, I die too often to get anything done. Looting places attrscts a lot of enemies for sure...

Get wounded or anything else that reduces your moves per turn and you'll have problem with supplies and sofar i haven't been able to recover from wounds even with first aid skill(no first aid kits though).
the moves/turns seems to be rather weirdly connected to the day & night cycle, or atleast that's the conclusion i've come to.

I don't know if this is cool to ask from a dev or not, but I would like to know about the process used to make the sprites, the game has a very well done color aesthetic.

*spoilerish a bit*     Scavenging is dead easy with night vision + athletic  - I think athletic is superfluous with a little patience.  Just never *ever* scavenge with less than 3 movement points left (after the MP for scavenging), or with someone tracking you.  I make sure to only scavenge with fresh movement and then run like hell if it attracts anyone.   I have been taking +botany with -metabolism, and it's been no problem at all from -metabolism - next is to try without botany to see if that's overkill too.   For the 1st few runs Medic is nice giving the nanokit - it lets you screw up a few times without being "game over".

EDIT: Look on the minimap, the light you see is the Glow in the SE corner.

You can also boil water in the metal pot. But it's better if it works with the soup can, as you can store screws and the like in it.

Also:
Trapping+String+Branches(+Multitool?+Screws?)= Squirrel trap. You can use it to find more squirrel.
Rifle+Sling+Screws+Mutlitool= Sliged rifle.
Rifle+Scope+Screws+Mutlitool= Scoped rifle.

Scoping the rifle also bring it back to 100%.

Another nice trick is to attack looter using "Rifle Butt" as a weapon. They're easy to take on, since they have no ammo. And you get a shiny rifle.

Now, is the "Not Working" button a save button in the beta? I just lost another good run (rifle, crowba, 20 bullets, a bag full of food, a full medikit+some antibiotics...) by closing a tab. :/

Edit: Damn. I went to the house, but was so scared I got out, looking for more ammo (I had none left). Then a Dogman OHKed me.

Speaking of that, when you add saved game, a nice feature would be a "You die, your save disappear". That or far spaced checkpoint. Savescumming would spoil the feeling of always being on the edge, if I had a save, I wouldn't have fled the house.

The "No Worky" button is still a "No Worky" Button sadly...

I think the no worky button is intended to some sort of stealth feature. Saving would presumably be done on the pause menu.

Sneak was in a while ago it seems, perhaps that was what the No Worky button was, well until it stopped working...

I found it really hard at first, but I took lockpicking, ranged, medic, sneak (which I eventually stopped using) and tracking. Metabolism was taken to get that extra slot.

I accidentally used all three stimpacks the first time I got injured, because I didn't realise that it was long-term healing, but it set me up for ages. A fight against a looter got my a gun, while lockpicking and a set of randomly found lockpicks allowed better looting (seriously, it doubles loot, without decreasing anything else) and gave me a stash of bullets. From there, it was just wandering towards the glow, murdering things in a single shot as I went. The extra loot from lockpicking was mostly shite, but I was never out of fancy saltines or bottled water.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

Stick or fist vs crowbar = death. Actually, I was already mortally wounded and not able to heal. Just getting injured seems like a death sentence.
