Wait, Necromancers can appear in Dwarf Fortress mode?  Like, what, they can attack?  Migrate?  I couldn't embark on a Necromancer tower, I didn't think?

They attack like other types of invaders.

Wow.  Never seen that.  Do I need to embark in an area with "Tower" as a neighbor?

Yes, you need to embark quite close to the tower to get necrovasions.

Hm, how close are we talking about?  See the tower in the region map?  On the local map?  Just see "Tower" in the list of neighbors?

From my experience, it just needs Tower in the list of neighbors. But closer to actual Tower you embark, sooner you will get necrovasions ( I love that word). For example, one my fort got full necrovasion on its second year, and it lied just next square from tower. Another fortress, which wasn't so close but has still tower-neighbor, got mainly necroambushes (that "intruders! drive them away!"-thing) and full-sclae invasion occurred after four years.

(*) stopped adv mode sleeping from sticking you on rooftops and teleporting you outside of castles (underground case not done yet)
And thus many adventurers cheered to the heavens.

Unknown to most but the insane and the mystics, Tarran is actually Earth itself, as Earth is sentient like that planet in Avatar. Originally Earth used names such as Terra on the internet, but to protect it's identity it changed letters, now becoming the Tarran you know today.

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

So can undead cats adopt zombies?

Have them killed. Nothing solves a problem quite as effectively as simply having it killed.

From previous thread:
In 31.25, creature materials were definable at caste level, but from 34.01 on they are now creature level. Why?

Knight Otu answered that -- they've always been defined at the creature level, and they've always been used at the caste level.  Bodies/tissues/breath/poison/blood etc. are all caste level tags.

Thanks! Wiki must be wrong then. I'll see if I can get the article fixed

EDIT: Would be a tad more convenient though, but IDK if the code allows for it.

(*) vampires no longer blame children/babies

What about child vampires?  Who gets blamed then?
Yes, what happens if a child is a vampire?  Can they not be accused, or can children no longer become vamps by drinking vampire-blood infused water sources?

Witnesses will still report whatever they saw.  The bug fix only refers to vampires making up stories.  Accusing adults instead of children and especially babies is more credible.

More credible? This means any witness saying any one but an adult did it would be right and not a vampire. Thus dwarves will rise suspicion that someone a vampire for not fingering some random adult dorf.

But the update says they can no longer do that...  ;D

What he's saying is that a young vampire could kill a dwarf with a single witness.  The innocent non-vampire dwarf witness would accuse the child, which actually tells us empirically that the vampire is a child, now that we know that vampires will not accuse children.  The child would accuse... the witness, maybe?  And that would be that.

no longer peg children/animals as murders for covering up their own vampire crimes.
thus are right and not a vampire if they say so.

Just think about that. Child Vampires, cursed to never age. You should not kill them. You should separate them from the rest, but let them still watch and see people every day. Then everyone they ever knew grows old and dies around them, while they remain confined. Trapped as a child, in a small, weak body that never changes. Forever.
