A dumping ground for all your examples of people being wrong on the Internet.

Vote Harper for President, 2012!

Oi, that is a great idea!  US gets a more liberal president than they've probably ever had and Canada gets rid of Harper.  Win win.  :D

...US gets a more liberal president than they've probably ever had...

That's what's so tragic about the United States.

I... actually am rather refreshed by his stance on government and "moral" issues (staying out of them). Better than the God, guns and gays lot we have, anyhow.

I'd vote for him. It'd get him out of my country, at least.

I hate to break this to you, but the only way Harper can legally become president is if he is a citizen of a US territory that is given statehood. So I'm afraid you'll have to pick a province to sacrifice to us.

Not Quebec, though. We already agreed that we don't want them either.

We'll find out where he was born, and give you that.

... Toronto, you say?

... Shit.

Conceivably, we could pass an amendment.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Shut up, you are ruining my plan to convince the Canadians to willingly bisect their nation to get rid of Harper, thus weakening their geopolitical status and causing Quebec to secede, and thus allowing the US to annex the rest of Canada! And then Quebec! And then possibly some Mexican states!

So don't go saying things like that, or they might get suspicious!

In all fairness, your plan is more plausible.

If you kill Québec, you're more likely to end up with a Conservative majority in future elections, though...

The thing is, the Republican establishment would never go for it. Stephan Harper may have strategists, may have other people in positions of authority within his own party, but at the end of the day he runs his party himself. He is not a figurehead, he is an active leader of his party's policies and management. If his MPs saying something that is not directly dictated by him, they are in dissent and tend to get punished for this. Stephan Harper would come in, try to bash some skulls to take a leadership position, realize that far too many people are far too used to not being lead into every single thing they say, and go home. Or he would completely change the entire Republican party into a mouthpiece for him, and crush all dissent.

I may be a little cynical here, but I watched him decimate the Progressive Conservative elements of his party one by one, and that basically left me without a national voice. So. Yeah...

No no, I think the Republican Party would take well to having an iron-fisted Overlord to tell them what to do. It's in their nature to respond to hierarchical power.

Personally, I think if we're going to invade Canada, we should use the pretext of all those Canadian quarters and dimes that work their way into our money supply. Obvously it's a plot to debase our currency. I'm even finding the occasional loonie! We're on to you sneaky maple-munchers!  :P

BTW, I'd like to volunteer to be Viceroy of Vancouver after the conquest.
