Descartes ends up with a surprisingly long chain of 25.  It's interesting to get someone who starts close but takes the scenic route.

EDIT: it seems to get confused if the link it wants doesn't exist.  Then it just reverts to philosophy.

I just discovered that Disciples 2 links directly to philosophy. Also, at 27 links, Operation Upshot-Knothole is possibly the longest chain you can get with a science related subject (nuclear weapons testing counts as science, right?)

IE: "Sealand" or "List of states with limited recognition" go for a while, then end, claiming to link to philosophy, on pages that don't.

Both of those worked for me.

Bukkake? You mean the Japanese method of serving noodles? Certainly you could not mean anything else.

Ahh, that makes sense. It was a 'random' click, so... I was, um, confused.

Meanings that are more sensible but lesser known usually cause confusion like that.

part of the problem is that philosophy is part of a tight loop consisting of philosophy and ontology. anything that links there, stays there forever.

It looks like the engine could use some refining.  Some pages that should almost certainly be close to philosophy get skipped over in favor of heading to mathematics and philosophy of mathematics.

For example, Jango Fett is extremely long despite passing through literature and art very early on.

Art-Painting-Paint-Liquid-State of Matter- (normal science chain goes here)

Theoretically should happen a lot. It shall be tested.

Dead links seem to kill it. For example, type in '1998 in South Africa.' The first link it tries ( North East Rand Dog Unit) is a dead link on wikipedia, so it fails and just connects it to philosophy anyway. :P

From what I can tell though, Mathematics seem

Ha! No links, eat that, theory!

It always takes the first hyperlinked article in the body of the text. Doing a full-tree search might sound all cool and stuff, but would be way way slower and cause all sorts of congestion (one search might even impact other users ability to access wikipedia servers).

If the average article links 40 other things, then searching 5 deep would mean checking 100 million pages.
