 You take a deep breath and follow the creature into the lip of the volcano.

 Inside there's a small depression of obsidian and pumice. Six or seven of the strange creatures are wandering, one or two limping about, making their odd noises. There's also a man, breathing heavily, eyes closed, with a gash across his chest. It's gone green, in a manner which you know gives him only a day or two to live.

He points to the rock and says "Dwayne?", a garbled, weirdly candescent version of the word for rock.

You say Rock again.

He says "Terr", motioning at the whole of creation

You sigh and say "ROCK."

He points at a tree and says "Aborealsi!"

This is going nowhere.
