Jim, suppose you're an investigative role, and somebody keeps both roleblocking and protecting you at night. What's your first assumption- that they're doing it for your own good, or to knock out a potential power role? What if they're removing your vote to protect you instead?
It depends on whether I had claimed beforehand. Also, it depends on if it's part of the same action or two separate actions. I'm assuming you mean that it's part of the same action? If it's separate actions then I don't think I really need to talk too much about it.
If I had claimed during the day and then the following night I was blocked, I'd assume it was to stop me from investigating, because what good is protecting an investigator if he can't do his work? If I hadn't claimed, I don't think I could draw any conclusions about it. I'd assume it was more for protection than for roleblocking, but not by much.
If they're taking my vote away and protecting me, I would assume it's more for the protection than because of the vote. Votes are important, but keeping alive an investigator in a bastard game at the cost of a vote seems like a good trade.
Jim, do you think the bastardiness of this game will mess with investigative roles?
Probably.
Last Bastard Paranormal there were mafia games on two levels; the staged game and then the
real game. The trick of BP1 was that Agents got inspect results on Third Parties and Doppelgangers on both levels.
There's probably some kind of trickiness with inspects and such, but who knows what it's going to be.
Oooh Jim, how much do you like Toaster?
Toaster is my mafia BFF. Whenever possible I want to be on the same team as him.
<3 <3 <3 Toaster <3 <3 <3
I'm a popular guy with random votes, it seems.
Normally, a xenozoologist can choose to abduct any player of his/her choosing freely, but in this case, they are pursuing us. Not among us, in other words. The fact that we choose to leave one person behind does not necessarily lead to that player's death (the flavour does not specify), but it makes perfect sense that the players we do leave can then be abducted by the xenozoologists. It may be that the only way the captives can win is if we throw one of each type of player to the xenozoologists (before they catch up to us, possibly), satisfy their wincon (ending the chase) and getting to the ship whilst eliminating the doppelgangers.
So the alien scientists, content to have one of each, decide to stop pursuing their captives and let them run off with one of their ships?
Hmmmmm, that doesn't seem too likely to me.
Toaster, so Urist Imiknorris is scum. What kind of scum?
