I saw trollface hovering in front of me. I'm going to have nightmares now.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCutumrm4msAre you talking about SCP-087-B? I haven't seen or heard of a trollface. When did this happen?
EDIT: For fun, I played through B again. I honestly don't find it as scary as the original. Why does everyone else think so?
Mr. Simple Mask isn't quite as scary as the original... thing. It's the inevitability of the first that really affects me, not the semi-jump-scare of the second. The first is a semi-jump-scare too, but with more notice.
Also, whoever thought that stupid grinning face that pops up was scary was wrong. It's really not scary, at all. Check the graphics files if you haven't seen it.
I must admit that my hands are shaking a bit as I type this, but it's not like I'm saying the second isn't scary. I haven't replayed the first for a reason. Actually, I have some time...
EDIT2: 167 floors, 18 minutes. Wow. That game is seriously weird. It's not as up-front scary as B, but maybe you aren't noticing some things happening. I'll spoil them below; before you read, you should play again (if you want).
- The shadows. These are obvious. The ones that are sometimes cast on the walls of the landings, and then move and disappear. Usually humanoid.
- The railing height changes. Sometimes it seems to be below your knees, sometimes almost up to your shoulder.
- The length of the floors changes. Some seem longer than others; as in, longer the direction you're moving in, not wider. They all still have the same amount of stairs, obviously.
- The field you illuminate changes. This may be a result of the floor length, though. Sometimes you can see the next railing turn from the upper landing, sometimes you need to be a third of the way down the stairs or more. This also effects how much of the wall you can see - including how high - so I don't think it's a product of the floor length.
- I think the darkness of the rail/walls/floor changes, but I'm not sure. Sometimes the patches of darkness seem darker, and it's darker overall, but I'm not sure, and it may be a result of the illumination changing.
- The... field of view? changes. I'm not sure what, exactly, it is. The best way I can describe it is that, you were zoomed out, viewing everything from farther away, but it then zoomed you in, and you can't see as much - almost as if you're forced to use a camera that's a short distance in front of the player. I'm not sure if that makes sense, or if you've noticed it; I didn't notice it the first time, just this one, and it really freaked me out when it happened, and afterward, because I couldn't see as much around in front of me.
Also, a few interaction glitches with the railing flung me into the air some feet. That was interesting.
