Alright. The two changes that I am considering are as follows:
I am thinking about making the world more dangerous, so that you will need to protect your colonies from the wilderness. I am also thinking about including a mechanic that makes developed areas less vulnerable to this sort of danger.
Secondly, I plan on changing the action/range mechanic. Since each turn is supposed to be 50-100 years or so, it doesn't make sense that you can only move 2 tiles in that time frame (this has always bothered me regarding the Civilization series). I am thinking about changing this system to that of an 'effective range', where if you try to act beyond the relevant range your actions have a considerably decreased chance of success.
I am currently working on the actual numbers and rules behind these changes, but would like some feedback.

I like the idea of slowly having developed areas become less and less hostile as you settle in and such, while having the frontier be open to attack. The range idea sounds good too.

If its possible to join at this point, I'm in.
All the evolution games sounds pretty neat, so I am pretty excited.

Seems that doing movement that way would be more of a difficulty to balance properly, but I suppose it would work (although it would be a bit more trouble for you).

Because the solution to not being able to control your dakka is MOAR DAKKA.

That's it. We've finally crossed over and become the nation of Da Orky Boyz.

Alright, I think I am going to have to delay starting this game for another 24 hours as some things have popped up which I have to deal with. I have a few more questions for people who want to play:
Firstly, I am thinking about not having Entities in the beginning. Thoughts?
Secondly, does anyone want to suggest somewhere to put game-related images?

Not having entities...Well I would strongly advise against that, but it's your game. If they aren't appearing straight away, I'm guessing that gods need a source of prayer to survive?

A lot of people recommend imgur. Don't know why it's good, but I use flckr since I've grown used to it.

I see why it's good now. Yeah, use imgur.

Perhaps entities should be born of beliefs of the people? Their raw consciousness could be, then they shape themselves as they see fit based on the world and the people around them.

At that rate we'll have more entities than species which will be hard to organise.

Well if there's a limit, then there's no problem besides people not being able to pick their spheres.

Ahh... See, that's what I was talking about. The entities are born of the desire of the player species' for gods. Then, the newly formed gods shape themselves into whatever sphere they think is best.
