Dwarf Fortress - where the primary reason to prevent death of your citizens is that it makes them more annoying then they were in life.

The week before, he lost a sock into the lava.
He really liked that sock. Secretly he hoped he would get it out of the molten rock.

Appropriately enough, it's narrated by Richard Hammond.

Never used Dwarf Therapist, mods or tilesets in all the years I've been playing.
I think Toady's confusing interface better simulates the experience of a bunch of disorganised drunken dwarves running a fort.

Olith McScientist cancels Collect Lava: Dangerous Terrain

Never send a man to do a Dwarf's job.

...if only Dwarves could collect lava.

A new type of zone, similar to the pond: lava pond!

Relevant to stuff that reminds me of Dwarf Fortress - I'm just watching the first season of MacGyver. Specifically the episode where Mac shows particular dwarfiness by laying a wall of traps between Burman villagers and their opium cartel oppressors. Falling snakes, assault rifles connected to road-blocking obstacles to disable enemy vehicles and a pipe of magma gas spraying at a sizeable enemy horde.

Seriously, both his trap planning and name indicate one of his parents was a dwarf.
