As long as we're on the topic of hardware, I intend to... well, I had a great desire two days ago to sell all 2 of my guitars, but then I became sad. Well, I think I'm still going to get rid of the acoustic one, on the account of not playing it anymore, even though I spent... a bit less than a year, I think, trying to become a super tremolo-ist (this shit is overrated). By the way, anybody got any suggestions on a drop in price for a guitar used for about 3 years... and a bit beaten (I actually managed to crack it on the back, in the form of a thin pale line about a couple of inches long)? It's Dean Espaņa CS. New goes from eBay for $220.
For my second guitar, which is a shabby electric, I've looked up a portable amp, the cheapest kind made for headphones.
Although I don't get much enjoyment from playing either of those. Something seems to lack in our relationship. Maybe it's the fact that I can't tear through solos at supersonic speeds... You know, it may well be because I don't have an amp. And funny thing with the acoustic guitar - I feel like it's too loud, so I'm not eager to play it.
Im actually planning on sprinkling in some heavy stuff here and there like this:

I dont want to have TOO much, and I dont want it too overpowering but this song seriously just begs for distortion and all of that stuff. Like a friend said to me, "Its already so god damn metal." Its the truth!
PS this version has 11 separate tracks and at times has 8 layers running at the same time. I might add more layers to fill everything out a bit more, but I need to redo the bass lines and then continue on with the track.
Distorted parts need some reverb, imo. I was thinking about somehow transitioning this song into an overpowering solo at the end. You know, a lick here, a lick there, and somehow suddenly there's a metal orgasm. Er. I didn't mean it to be so graphic.
Although I've got no idea if it's possible to pull off at all, with the way the song is.
