Okay, another direction this can go in:

Do we really want Bay12 to be known as the forum where they tried to make FATAL work?

Its under a traditional copyright. We're not allowed to make it work, technically.

We can be known as a forum that made FATAL work. Although technically, we won't. LETHAL is a "spiritual remake".

You do not want that reputation. Trust me on this.

Around when FATAL was written, people wrote their own RPGs like they were fanfic, usually with the same level of maturity and polish.  Still goes on a bit now, but as far as I can tell, not to the same degree. And like fanfic, a lot of it was prurient just for shits and grins, often involving various roll tables for sexual acts.  FATAL could almost be seen as a parody of that, but a grotesquely extended one.  It's like every other Ren and Stimpy, or for those born a decade later, the "extended" South Park cuts, where a puerile gag would become so over-extended and over-worked that you became disgusted and disturbed by the leering grimacing screaming characters that were trying to pound a no-longer-funny joke through your ears and eyeballs.  It's what the comedy biz calls "trying too hard".

Every other page in FATAL is something about anal insertions and penis size, going on for hundreds of pages.  It's not even disturbed genius, it's just mental illness or fetal alcohol syndrome or something.
