Ulgurk sees the monstrous paper thingy and wants to shoot it. Shooting is, after all, quite enjoyable but he decides that he might refrain from doing so because the papery demon is holding a man and that man could be important. On the other hand... If he shot the academic just enough to cause him to bleed profusely but not die his blood could soak the writing and stop the beast this could be especially helpful because of the confined spaces. If anyone asks it was an accident. He shakes his head though, Ulgurk is a policeman now and not allowed to casually murder people. He lifts the Howling Hunting Rifle and proceeds to shoot at the beast, if it hits the academic well... It actually was an accident.

Shoot the horrid thing! Don't feel too bad if the man gets hit!

"Paper, huh? Time to get wet, then!" Kate says as she fishes around in her bag, taking out a small pressurized water tank and replacing part of her gun with it, which now acts like a squirt gun.

John snaps his eyes towards the monstrosity. Hauling the bayonet from his musket, he hurtles forward, attempting to cut free the consumed academic

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

((Not approved canon yet))
Earlier:
Flrrrbth stood in front of the intimidating building on Watchmaker's Hill. His facial appendages, itching from the spores drifting in from the swamps, played nervously with his cravat. He wasn't entirely sure yet, where to go, and asking would be a lengthy process. He straightened his back... area, and attempted to sigh in frustration:
"Glrgphfffffthth!"
Faces turned, and people stepped away from him. A thick-set, soft-faced man with a blunderbuss turned pale and started frantically sniffing a can of smelling salts. Now that could've gone worse. Sighing internally, Flrrrbth made his way to the front desk and slammed a note on its surface. He had written it at home, taking his time, and so it was mostly readable.
WILL STRANGLE FOR CASH MONEY, it read. Flrrrbth noticed his error, pulled a thick pencil from his coat pocket, his arm tentacles slipping out of his sleeve and whipping around, and quickly adjusted the text, tearing the paper only a little:
WILL STRANGLE FOR CASH MONEY, SIR

He then started wiggling his rubbery, prehensile eyebrows, and only stopped when he was finally handed a paper that smelled sweet, if nowhere as sweet as Amber.

Mini GM

Josephine was always the quiet one--this time, she was luckily very quiet enough that her focus was pretty easy to turn towards the source of danger. She mused that she'd be extra quiet in the future so as not to interrupt such delicate events from her notice.

Quickly getting her rifle in check, she ensured it was loaded and the firing mechanism was primed for a quick shot.
Now the only problem was getting past the numerous thesis papers and hitting the assignments instead...
The words were just so...similar.

((I'm totally inept in combat scenarios using the FATE mechanic so anyone correct me unless anything goes totally wrong!))
Shoot at the monsters!

[Possible Consequence: If I am liable to hit and break a lantern/oil lamp, causing a fire, that would be a nice help.]

Josephine's Shoot Roll: -2 + 3 VS 1 - 1: Success.

The rifle shot cleaved through the silence of the University with a bang, emitting a small whistle as it goes through the monster. The being doesn't seem very bothered by the bullet.

Undeterred, Josephine shot the nearby gaslamp. It burst into flame, which licked the monster and caused the papers to begin to curl and burn.

Monster's Stress:

Aspect: Burning
