The group can possibly ask more question, or head to the Carnival or the University.

Josephine raised her hand, making it quite obvious she was the lady amongst the group (other than the other nicely dressed one). In her hand was that rifle.[/color]

"Alright, I got your guuuu-" He looks at the gun in her hand, and then at the Experimental Blunderbuss in his pack.
"Well what in bloody shadows did ya give me money for then?" He grumbles annoyedly. "Well, you want it anyway? Take an armor?"

Code: [Select]
Experimental Blunderbuss: A blunderbuss modified to be able to use nearly anything as ammunition, for the resourceful. Judging from its look, though, the rounds have a tendency to blow up in the user's face.
Aspect: Junk rounds

All guns are equipped with bayonets, allowing them to perform close-range attacks.

Glistening Chitin-plate: A light armor made out of some unknown chitin. Probably something big and common, judging from the price. In certain light, it looks like it's made out of mirrors.
Aspect: Walking Mirrors

Far Khanate(?) Fullplate: You weren't sure this counted as light armor, nor why Mr. Carrow is parting with it at such a cheap price. Until you realize it's a costume. The leather is firm enough, I suppose.
Aspect: Costumed Vigilante

"We heading to see this Senior Symbol Reader then?"

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

"I could do for a change of scenery, definitely! Although as stuffy as these scholars tend to be... no time for leisure and fun, always buried in their books. Still, I'm sure we can convince them by appealing to their baser natures. Er, in a sophisticated manner, of course."

Sir Groovington seems eager to leave the squalor of these parts and go to the university.

Perking up at the mention of a University, Josephine grabbed the opportunity before thinking about it.

"University? Sure, let's head there. Sounds like a great place to continue our quest."

Leaning towards Sir Groovington, she asked him quite plainly, though quietly.

"I...never knew there was a University in this...city. Did you study there while growing up? And how is it relevant to this contract we've got here?"

"Study? Well, I believe I was enrolled in it at some point. They wanted me to become an accountant or attorney or something like that, I'm sure. I don't think I've ever actually set foot in that place, had enough books at home so I didn't see much the point. No, dear Josephine, life is the best University, and for good literature, they don't hold a candle to the poets of the Veilgarden."

Charles ponders for a moment, "I believe this Nose fellow just told us to go look up friend at the Department of Umbral Symbology."

Well like th' man said. Semiotics. Symbology. Same thing, innit? John was never one to ignore the advice of a man in a hat.
Men in hats usually knew what was going on.

((When the last post is on this date, and today is June 29, 2015, 10:09:26 am, one can readily conclude that one is burdened by schedule when this thread is still in the newbox x_x sorry))

Josephine noted down the area--London was quite a big place by record, and a landmark would be of interesting find.

"I do hope this opportunity for research will bring us closer to knowing our mark."

GM POST

Down here in the Neath, timekeeping is difficult. The false-stars are as ephemeral and fickle as the moving islands of the Unterzee. Perhaps even more so, because they tend to be swarms of glowing insects. Some turn to chiropteromancy, the study of the bats' migration patterns. Nonetheless, even those just simply predict seasons. In the end, the most reliable form of timekeeping comes from moon pearls. These pearls, apparently identical to surface pearls in almost every way - perhaps some of them were even surface pearls - are linked to the Moon. They become dark when it is daytime over the British Empire, and at night-time on the Surface, they show the face of the moon.

Either way, while the University keeps pearls and clocks for the purpose of appointments and other events, people here don't sleep punctually. Hence, the University is eternally awake.

The porter yawned as he (or she?) peered through the door in the gate at the group of Eradication Officers. She examined their badges and let them through, watching the pigeonholes fiercely to make sure nobody tried to filch anything from them.

While the two sides are as different as night and day, where Benthic is modern, dark, marvelous, and baroque, while Summerset is traditional, pearly-white, severe, and gothic, it is difficult to tell where the boundaries between Benthic and Summerset lies. The two seemed to seamlessly join into each other into a single superstructure.

The striking superimposition of contrast and harmony between the two colleges remind the group that Lenny forgot to tell them where the Department of Umbral Symbology is.

"Well friends, anyone have any idea what a Umbral Symbologist looks like?" says Groovington. For some reason, he pictures a man wearing a robe with stars sewn all over, with the letters WIZZARD written on a pointy, floppy hat.

Kate goes to the first manned desk she can find and asks where the Department of Umbral Symbology is. What is it with men and asking for directions?

GM UPDATE

Kate approached the first manned desk she found, which happened to be some form of recruitment desk for the Department of Oriental Papercrafts. A student stood up enthusiastically, mistaking the juxtaposition of her unmarred aristocratic characteristics and her unkemptness as a mark of her being a Benthic student looking to apply. She was noticeably disappointed when Kate flashed the badge and asked where she might find the Department of Umbral Symbology.

That was easy, Kate might think as she makes her way back to the others.
