Actually, if we're going for something flying we might want to go for something much, much smaller. Kind of the size of a bat or something, and preferably poisonous.

Makes much less of a target, is more economical, and can infiltrate their fortress by flying into important vents and clogging them and stuff.

+1 especially since poison is involved. We shall cristen the monstrocity..Ebbs

+1 flying poison bats (or a bit smaller)

Ground troops - I think acid is okay but probably not necessary (wall can be brought down by tunneling underneath maybe or by just breaking through it underground which we have sufficient technology to do. The rest should just use their tunnels more often.  Flying poison bats sound more useful than  acid ground guys for a limited number of castes we can make.

Dwarf fortress in 50 words: You start with seven alcoholic, manic-depressive dwarves. You build a fortress in the wilderness where EVERYTHING tries to kill you, including your own dwarves. Usually, your chief imports are immigrants, beer, and optimism. Your chief exports are misery, limestone violins, forest fires, elf tallow soap, and carved kitten bone.

Really, an effective weapon could be some kind of grub or mite, combined with the flyers. We scatter them over any crops they have. The grubs burrow and blight the crops, remaining in spores in the soil against pesticides and replantation. Either they starve or they have to expand beyond their walls.

In fact, just filling the area with so many diseases they have to wear biohazard suits to go outside would be a plus.

We don't really need the grubs. If our bats are poisonous, they can do that job as well.

+ the chargers. I think we had enough agreement to make those, even if we don't deploy them yet.

We had a lot of discussion about them, but I have so far seen little agreement on anything.

We have to concede that there's a significant chance that we can only create one new race at a time.

Wait y'all I have just realized something that could be really useful to us. We are insects insects have very distinct stages in there development. For most insect's including ants it goes egg -> Larva -> Pupa -> Adult. The insect is basically a completely different critter in its different life cycles. One common example of this is catipeler to butterfly, though that example isn't that applicable to our "ants" (by the way we should probably name our selves) one example that is applicable to our situation is the ant lion who in its larval stage is a powerful ambush hunter and borrower and in its adult stage becomes a aerial insect akin to a dragon fly. So why cant we do something similar so we can get both a charger and a flyer. In one so below you will see my proposal yeah

That isn't bad, if the GM accepts it. It's reasonable enough, I suppose. Though the chargers coming from the fliers doesn't make that much sense. If it will work, +1.

Typically in the insect world it would actually be the oppisite but there is no real reason it cant happen that way
