Is there an orange stone in the game?
« on: February 04, 2012, 08:40:12 am »

I've done much searching and asking with friends, but i can't seem to find any orange stones for my project to make a rainbow road. Are there any? And if not how can I mod one in? Thanks.

Orange Stone?
Hell, Orange isn't a COLOR in game.
The closest you get is brown.
But, you can mod the color palette to MAKE orange.
This wiki page should help.

This is a side-effect of dwarven animal training (hit animal with hammer until it forgets that it hates you, then lovingly cuddle it).

Hematite can be pretty close to orange in real life, if that helps.

But, you can mod the color palette to MAKE orange.

Which is probably a bad idea, because everything else that's supposed to be the original color will also turn orange.

It's treated as completely normal because this is Dwarf Fortress.  There's absolutely nothing wrong with surrounding yourself with a wall of flames, only to later realize that you're surrounded by a wall of flames.
There's nothing that can't be solved by hurling fifteen roc birds at it.

Petrified wood is as close as it gets.

Heamatite is the red stripe already I'm afraid. I was goning to import cinnabar and gypsum, but that would take too long.

Actually, the dwarven rainbow contains all the shades of stone, so you need to put one line of everything in it. A noble venture, to be sure, as the dwarves will know if you cheated.
