Is that water natural to the caverns or is it all floodwater from the brook?

a lot of it's floodwater, and it's starting to back up into area adjacent to my dorfs, just building them an, ewww, treehouse, so they can at least sleep, running out of wood tho so once the roofs up and rooms are allocated off with the roof so they can have at least one chair and table, i can show another stonesense pic if you like.

edit: I think i found why it's quite so slow i'm currently at 4000z and i havent hit the ceiling yet, i'll update with a pic once i work out the full extent and i'll probably have to use DFize to get the, well satellite view down on it, nothing from several thousand z tho obv.

edit 2: well minimum z level is 9, and i'm currently upto 20,000z i'm going to shift it over to the 2nd pc to continue counting, since there seems no end in sight, and i should really do something else than wedge down the up z button.
