OOC: This fort is seriously lagging and I've only got a couple of hours free. Currently going at 10fps maximum in Late Summer. It's that damned siege but I can't really do anything about it. I doubt even legendary close-combat dwarves will get insta-killed by squads of human crossbowmen. What did we even do to piss them off like that? I'll try finishing it tonight in one go.
4th of Galena 206Engraver's meeting synopsis:
-The humans outside armed to the teeth with crossbows and bolts haven't moved.
-We're building things for Analog: straight up and with lots of stones and statues.
-Food and booze are well stocked. Access to the outside world isn't even needed for now. Everything a dwarf would wish for is right here.
13th of Galena 206EMERGENCY MEETING!
This disease, started by Analog hasn't faded. Another dwarf started running around babbling about needing items and a workshop. This time though, it's one of our own! Tulon Bookcastles has gone the way of fey and claimed a Mason's workshop.
OOC: oh wow, this guy's already a legendary mason
18 of Galena 206A siege has come! Raise the bridge seal the fo... WAIT A MINUTE? TWO SIEGES?
This time it's a group of human pikemen on war giant tigers.
22nd of Galena 206Tulon has created a galena hatch cover and calls it All Akmam or 'the weights of sinking'.
Gah, too slow. Not finishing this tonight. Probably tomorrow, hopefully. The extra siege didn't help my fps
CONTINUING!
10th of Timber 206My work here is done! Geodude is finished. What is geodude you might ask, as every dwarf should, since he is a curious creature that will do things against his better judgement. Geodude stands for Geological exhibition of dwarven underground drilling expeditions. It is a museum of sorts, though I still haven't worked out the ticket system.
In short (hah, dwarven pun): most sentient creatures that visit us loathe the underground. Therefore I have created an aboveground viewing room of sorts where every chamber is made of the stones that correspond with that level. Statues are used to describe metal deposits that can be found there.
Okay, I'm going to try and get at 1st of Granite. The FPS rot is getting out of hand...
15th of Limestone 206I've been keeping busy
The mood swing epidemic I started (I think) has gotten another victim. Lor Helmlucid, a fisherdwarf by profession has become possesed. He claimed a magma forge...
If only every dwarf would claim the most dwarven of dwarf workshops to engineer new creations.
20th of Moonstone 206An update on Lor is in order. He has gathered a bar of tin, a bunch of goblin bones, microline and andersite square blocks, rough milk opals, some extra raccoon and fox bones and a cloth made from rope reed. This sound promising.
I must admit I just love to hear the sound of a mad dwarf chanting one word over and over...
STINEDAN STINEDAN STINEDAN
Strifulstirs, a tin earring!!!8th of Opal 206Catten, one of the militia commanders has decided to name his mace. Further inspection reveals said mace has shifted owners once and has aided in killing both dwarf and beast. BUT IT'S JUST A STUPID SIMPLE IRON MACE!
I did not know you could look up history on named weapons. Cool beans!!!
