I did some searching, but I couldn't find this suggestion, so I apologize if this is redundant. Quite simply you should be able to toggle whether or not to view the contents of Bins at the Depo. This would make trading with the elves much less frusterating for example, as you would only see a dozen Cloth Bins in the screen rather than the hundred rope reed cloths they contain.

You have to select each item in the bin but not the bin itself.
