ADOM (Ancient Domains of Mystery) is the only game I know where you can make sacrifices to the RNG.  Bad things usually happen.  I'm almost certain that the RNG is a randomly generated god and as such you don't know what kinds of sacrifices it likes and doesn't like.  Having never once gotten a good result from doing it, I stopped.

Drinking from fountains had more prosperous results, and those could kill you (as well as any number of other things ranging from stat boosts, supernatural powers, corruption (which could lead to more super powers, most of them bad), see-invis, be-invis, blindness, regeneration, healing, damage, summon hostile creatures, poison, disease; any and off of which could vary from permanent to temporary--bad ones were usually permanent--any possible flag, variable, and ability could be gained or lost by drinking at a fountain (except corruption, you could never lose corruption by drinking fountain water)).

Draco, random god in ADOM? As far as I remember different races have different gods which like different sacrifices, also your god depends on your alignment and slightly on your profession.

So if you're a chaotic lizardman barbarian you will have a fixed god with fixed desires.

Actually your character has 3 gods there. 1 lawful, 1 chaotic and 1 neutral. You may follow just 1 at the time but you have possibilities to turn to another god/alignment (with a high chance to be punished by your former master).
