Trap issue.
« on: August 31, 2018, 11:16:16 pm »

I am using a battery hooked up to a gear, then a vertical axle into another screw pump.
This pump only has a single tile of water at the inflow and will pump that onto a pressure plate once the gear is turned on.

Thus I use this as a switch for pulling up drawbridges and releasing cages, etc...

I find that long periods of time without the gear on seems to disconnect everything above it.
Would 2 gears help? I am not sure why it's doing this. Is it just a time issue?

Forget it. I'll just make a bridge over a channel and drop the water onto a pressure plate. Idk why I didn't do that in the first place ....

When I read "battery" I thought about the artillery (i.e. catapults or ballistae), but they are not powered, so...

I see, you're talking about a multi-building structure serving a single purpose.

Deactivated gears do not provide support. By "disconnect", do you mean fall apart or just lose power connectivity?
