I did play MWO, but it got too grindy too fast (couldn't really try different builds 'cause everything cost dozens of matches to get).

I do have Insurgency, and maybe there are mapmodes where I can just sit back and snipe. I'll have to give it a try again. Thanks for helping convince me folks

Insurgency is too short range for real sniping but it's very camping-friendly.  Even the UMP-45 can one-shot people from a good distance away, and the M1 carbine is a great cheap sniping weapon that's decent at close range in a pinch.
