Epic Storytelling, I very much enjoyed reading so far

Actually i dont believe its the increadable amount of stone and such that are causing the fortress to run slow. 90% of the time pathfinding is what causes a fortress to drop FPS. Unfortunatly with the way the fortress is designed there is no way to prevent this without completly overhauling the tunnels, rooms, and hallways.

Who needs stupid elves anyways, besides they are a good supply of +elf skull totems+ when you go to war with them.

So how is the Fortress going Akhier

4
So the spear was causing the fortress guard to have spinal injuries and other damage meaning they are less able to hurt people due to noble mandates, whats the downside  :)

5
Thats weird. I had the spear for 3 seasons and didnt have a single military injury due to the spear that whole time.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: thirsy dwarves surronded by booze
« on: December 05, 2008, 08:26:07 pm »
I've noticed that if a dwarf is substantially away from a booze stockpile it will take him some time to stop what he is doing and actually walk to it. If he gets the thirsty tag while walking to it (eg its really far away) it will give him the negative thought. Try doing a few small sub booze piles around your fortress that draw booze from the main one. See if that helps your situation any

I do believe the capt. posted in a different thread (and apologized) about The Steel. Its supposed to be a steel circlet that would go around your head in place of a helm. You could always pretend its a steel that you use to hone and sharpen blades though.

9
Actually, I believe there are a few hundred bins full of leather clothing, pig tail clothing, and spider silk clothing, its just, dwarves are stupid. I had a dedicated cloth maker and such set to repeatidly make all of the civilian type of clothing. Once again dwarves are stupid and prefer clothing made of vomit over clothing made of clothes

Sorry about the delay, Kinda had to deal with a few events and some new planning during my turn, and some unexpected IRL events took over for the day, I'm almost done with the turn and will update soon

actually i've found (and later looked on the wiki) the weapon quality increases your skill with a weapon in addition to boosting the damage, so giving a higher quality weapon will reduce injuries because your less likely to strike at full strenght just due to lack of skill

The military is strong enought that if you stay within the walls of the fortress and let any marksgoblins come to you, they will be slaugtered so dieing isnt to much of an issue. If you dont screw with food planters/brewers/cooks and the hauler labled Food hauler your food problems will be self taken care of. Anything else is up to you so it should be pretty hard to actually destroy this fortress aside from a tantrum spiral.

I wouldent mind taking a dwarf as well, Doesnt matter what his profession is right now, but I would like the dwarf groomed into a weapons master (training each weapon to legendary)
Name him Kartain

Here is an update so far on my turn.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Basically I havent done a whole lot besides reorganize the way everything in the fortress works. Having a new legendary weaponsmith will come in handy as well. One of the champion wrestlers got assigned to train with the artifact spear. The food production should be consistant and well working with only 5 or so dwarves that are currently assigned to it.

Alright, I have It downloaded and will be starting my turn. I have this upcoming monday off so hopefully *crosses fingers* i should be able to spend some time on the fortress.
