Other Games / Re: Nazi Dinosaurs
« on: January 12, 2011, 12:30:13 am »
Figured it was worth reviving the topic as a quick search revealed no other topic about it.
But Dino D-Day is due to release march.
Linky: http://www.dinodday.com/home.html

Quote
The year is 1942

Adolf Hitler has succeeded in resurrecting dinosaurs. The reptilian horde has trampled Europe and the Mediterranean. Can nothing stop the Nazi’s dinosaur army?

Dino D-Day is a frantic, action-packed multiplayer game that will transport you to a World War II that should have been. You and your friends will battle online choosing to serve the cause of the Allied nations or Adolf Hitler. The Allied side includes six playable characters each with unique weapons and abilities to use in combat. Gun down a Dilophosaur with your trusty M1 Garand, blast a kamikaze pterosaur out of the sky with your Thompson sub-machine gun, toss out a dead jack rabbit to lure a raptor into a trap.

As an Axis player you will have your choice of three human classes and three dinosaur classes. Ambush your enemy with speed and stealth as the Raptor, mercilessly pound the enemy with the Desmatosuchus’ heavy 20mm gun, rampage through enemy groups as the Dilophosaur, pick up a body and throw it at an enemy for a double kill! The German soldier classes are the perfect complement to their dinosaur comrades.

You’ve played World War II games before…but have you played a World War II game with dinosaurs?

General Discussion / Re: Lego just got hardcore
« on: July 14, 2010, 05:51:09 pm »
Cheapest way to get legos is garage sale hunting. Mums really don't understand the value of second hand lego. They could probably sell it as second hand online and make a reasonable profit. Instead they get all of the lego their son left behind when he left home and sell for next to nothing. I got probably close to $500 (if it were new) worth of lego from one such mother for about $20.

Woo, I'm glad Spain won as that means the All Whites were the only team in the world cup to remain undefeated! Woo Go New Zealand. :P

Stand in front of a sentry while enemies walk past to find out if your sentries own bullets hurt you :p

6
Not sure if anybody mentioned this but could this be a new sentry?

Other Games / Re: Steam sales... again through July 4th up to 85% off

Not sure if anyone noticed this as it was hard to find through the steam menus, but tropico reloaded ie tropco 1 + exp and tropico 2 is only $3.30. Great buy if you can't play/don't already have tropico 3.

Life Advice / Re: What should I name my new frog.
« on: June 12, 2010, 05:31:50 am »
Why don't you ask someone in the real world, maybe go to a local petshop and ask the guy at the counter there if he knows any place that sells frogs. The forum isn't here to cater to your every need so stop being such an attention whore.

Notice how the engie is right handed and yet... The scope-like thing is for left handed people. Also, the case ejection system is for left handed people... Which means that whenever he pumped the shottie, a case would fly right onto his face.

Valve fails at design.

I don't think that is a scope. More a laser dot sight.

Someone may have already posted it but... Stumbled upon this and thought the thread might enjoy it.

Steam Name: Velazoraptor
Though I only play on NZ servers (ON3 network ones most notably). Anyone here who plays on such servers should add me.

I've played maybe 30 hours, probably a total of 15 of those hours have been since hats existed on TF2. Got my first hat the Pyro's fireman hat the other day. Wheee.

Edit: Also is it just me or are these minor updates huge in size. My connection to steam, as it is through a university, is only 5kbps. I can hardly play anymore with these minor updates coming out every two or three days. I have to leave my computer on for half a week to actually update the game.
My internet at home is 5KB/s and I can't even connect to steam with it. :/

Although, in the US at least, universities generally have absurdly fast internet. Even at a community college I got 2MB/s down over the wifi, and several times that on a landline.

It's not so much that it is a slow internet connection, more that the university are shaping downloads from steam. Playing on servers is fine as they are not reduced in speed.

Sweet, games and mods that are sold/downloaded as legitimate torrents are kind of annoying. I can see why they do it, i.e. to save on bandwidth and i suppose that makes sense. However it frustrates me when there are awesome things that I can't access.
